Aaron Carter’s Girlfriend Almost Filed A Restraining Order Against Him Before His Death

Aaron Carter was in an on and off relationship with Melanie Martin from 2020 to 2022 up until his death. They share one son, Prince.

In an Instagram post, she mourned the death of her boyfriend. “Aaron you saved me from a fake life and showed me what true love is. You always believed in me. Even when I didn’t believe in myself. You always reminded me that you have seen every girl all over the world but that I was the one you chose 💔👨‍👩‍👦😰. I cared for you so much and always just wanted to help you face your demons to continue our beautiful life together. We had so much in store for our future with prince and now it’s just gone. In a new documentary series Fallen Idols, Melanie Martin revealed that they almost filed restraining orders against each other, but reconciled before his untimely death. In another confessional, she was asked if Carter was “physically abusive,” to which she replied, “I don’t want to talk about this.”

Lina Valentine (2018 – 2019)

Aaron Carter dated Lina Valentine for almost a year from September 2018 to August 2019. Valentina opened up about Carter’s substance abuse in a tribute post to her ex.

“Aaron, I’ve mourned the loss of you [a] few days before we broke up [in 2019]. We’ve both cried our eyes out because your addiction won and we both knew it. For the last few years now, I knew that any day now I’d be writing this,” the tattoo artist wrote on her Instagram Stories. “You have no idea how hard your family and I fought to try and help you and get you back to sobriety; how much pain it has caused us to see your health deteriorate over the last years, but I want people to remember WHO you were when you were sober. I was fortunate enough to get you there and witness how incredible you were when you were healthy.”

She continued, “Even broken up, you’d always tell me you’d find me one day and if you die you’d find me. You can rest now, Aaron, I’m wishing you so much peace. You’re absolutely in a better place than you have been in the last couple years. Until we meet again.”

Madison Parker (2016 – 2017)

Aaron Carter dated Madison Parker from 2016 to 2017. The two reportedly split after Carter came out as bisexual. “The split was very amicable,” a source told Us Weekly. “Aaron is continuing to focus on his personal self with regards to his truth, health and music.”

However, the outlet reported that Parker was not supportive of him. A source said, “Madison really was not supportive of Aaron’s sexuality and didn’t understand it.” They continued, “Madison was not a good influence on Aaron, and Aaron is better off without her,” the source tells Us. “He’s able to live an authentic life for the first time. He’s finally free and doesn’t have the anxiety he was having.”

Kari Ann Peniche

Aaron Carter was briefly engaged to Kari Ann Peniche for six days. The “I Want Candy” singer proposed to her six days after they met. The model previously dated his brother Nick Carter.

The couple called off the engagement in a “mutual decision,” “He’s really young and just needs to get his act together,” she told People. “I don’t know what’s going on right now. We’re friends and maybe we’ll get back together sometime. We haven’t ruled out getting back together.”

Carter’s rep confirmed the split, telling the outlet at the time, “He decided he had made a mistake. He’s young and got caught up in the moment. He hopes they can be friends.”

Lindsay Lohan (2003)

Aaron Carter briefly dated Lindsay Lohan in between his on-and-off relationship with Hillary Duff. In a PEOPLE interview when she was 17, she was asked about Carter and Duff. Lohan stated “Aaron and I were friends. That’s my past.” she continues and says “He’s a cool guy. We’re friends. Hilary is a cute girl. I wish her the best.”

In an interview promoting her film Falling For Christmas, Lohan remembered him with “so many (memories) from when I was so young, just that era of my life … and my prayers go out to his family and may he rest in peace and God bless”.

Hillary Duff (2000 – 2003)

Hillary Duff dated Aaron Carter from 2000 to 2003 after they met on the set of Lizzie McGuire. He guest starred in a season one episode “Here Comes Aaron Carter” and they were both 13 when they started dating.

The two split in 2003 amid reports of a love triangle with Lindsay Lohan. Carter told Fox News about some lingering feelings about his ex. “I’m really happy for her that she’s in a successful relationship and that she’s going to have a baby,” Carter said at the time when Duff was married to ex Mike Comrie. “Sometimes I think to myself, maybe that could have been me, but it is what it is.” He added, “She knows I will always love her.” He later told Entertainment Tonight, that he was “never going to give up on Hilary, ever.”

Duff replied to Carter’s remarks. “I don’t know how I feel,” she said. “I mean, that was so long ago, and obviously I’m still married, and I have a baby and we kind of just… don’t know each other.”

After Carter’s death, Duff took to Instagram to pay her respects. “For Aaron — I’m deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in front of the whole world,” Duff wrote. “You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent… boy did my teenage self love you deeply. Sending love to your family at this time.”
