Jenna Ortega showed up to a New York City screening of A24’s new film, Death of a Unicorn, where she plays Paul Rudd’s daughter, Ridley. And at first glance, all is normal. She’s the same brunette diva with the same attitude, but upon closer inspection, she’s got a burgundy tint to her hair, and no it’s not just the lighting. Ortega has added a dark red tint to her hair.
This happens just days after I see a video of Tana Mongeau on my For You Page talking about how every spring, she gets the urge to get a bleach and be blonde for spring and summer. Here’s the thing. While I do think some people, Tana included, are meant to be blondes, Jenna Ortega is for the girls who know they’re meant to have dark hair year-round. (Or maybe need to keep it dark for an acting job they might have coming up!)

Ortega wore her hair parted in the middle with long side bangs and pin straight hair. The rest of her glam was a look she typically sports. Heavy eyeliner, muted blush, and a neutral lip. She wore a David Koma pre-fall 2025 collection black dress with a bandeau at the chest and a assymmetrical sculptural piece by the shoulder.
The film is out at the end of March in theatres. The plot centers a father and daughter who hit a unicorn with their car and the following misadventures that come when the father’s boss tries to use the unicorn’s magical properties for gain.
