Emma Chamberlain’s recent bleach blonde pixie cut was met with tons of criticism by internet trolls, and the black bob she just debuted for her Byrdie cover shoot has potential to be just as controversial. Although the Youtuber turned haute couture muse is known for unapologetically taking fashion risks, we can’t help but be a little shocked at her ability to pull off any hair look. And as much as she suits blonde, her black bob is giving Snow White in all the best ways.
After flirting with short hair for a while, Emma finally went full pixie at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party. While fans were quick to applaud the change, that didn’t stop some commenters from criticizing her new look. Even though short haircuts are becoming exceedingly popular among it girls (think, Tyla, Lily Collins, etc.), they’re somehow always met with disapproval. But, if you know Emma, you know that she’s not one to listen to the noise.
For her Byrdie cover, Emma experimented with three new hair looks. She sported an elegant Snow White-esque black bob, a bright blonde pin curl updo, and shoulder-length ginger waves. We’ve seen her cycle through a few different hair colors throughout the years, but it’s safe to say these three new looks are a complete departure from her past hairstyles. Because no matter if it’s editorial or IRL, we can always count on Emma to make any haircut look like it was made for her.
Emma just debuted her pixie cut, but this shoot is reminding us that she has tons of potential hair transformations down the line. Her Snow White bob in particular is a top contender, especially since she’s yet to fully commit to a jet black hairstyle this short. If nothing else, at least this pixie cut means we’re bound to see Emma don even more temporary hair looks.
