The internet absolutely lost their minds when Ariana Grande brought back her 2018 ponytail in the Brighter Days Ahead short film, and she just revived it yet again—but in a way none of us were expecting. In the recently released Swarovski SS25 campaign, Ariana debuted another iteration of her signature voluminous high pony—only this time cropped and dip-dyed with lilac. Maybe the fan theories are right, and Ariana swapping out her Glinda pink for Swarovski lilac is yet another sign of a brand new era.

Ariana has been extra booked and busy recently, so this Swarovski campaign comes as a shock to no one. In fact, she collaborated with the brand for an exclusive collection just a couple months ago—and she’s been working with them since last year. While her capsule collection definitely leans more elegant and feminine like her Wicked-era aesthetic, this new campaign gives off a more playful and flirty vibe.

In the new campaign video, Ariana embraced the lilac touches of Swarovski’s new collection with a short lilac-dipped ponytail. Although the hairstyle also featured her usual honey blonde color, the contemporary styling felt like a stark contrast to her more sophisticated Glinda looks. Just like in the Brighter Days Ahead short film, Ariana also wore more dramatic eye makeup—consisting of a pink smokey eye, her Thank U, Next-era winged eyeliner, and contoured cheek bones. Is baddie Ariana back?

Unsurprisingly, the Ariana stans ate up her new Swarovski campaign. Commenters began to compare the campaign to Winx Club, Sailor Moon, and the fairy aesthetic in general. And even though she’s just coming out of her Eternal Sunshine days, some fans began to wonder if we’ll be seeing more magical girl vibes in her future endeavors. Beyond all else, this campaign is only further proof that Ariana’s ever-changing style will always keep us on our toes.
