Nicole Kidman Just Gave Us Her Most Dramatic Hair Moment Yet at the Met Gala

Nicole Kidman arrived at the 2025 Met Gala in a black custom Balenciaga Couture—but all we could think about was her hair. Kidman, known for her long hair that she often wears straightened, completely switched up her ‘do with a chop and two-toned slick fashion “mullet.” After Leslie Bibb made the “c*nty little bob” the look of the season in The White Lotus, we’re not shocked that everyone from Kidman to Pamela Anderson are cutting off their long strands (Anderson also showed up to the 2025 Met Gala with freshly cut hair).
The Babygirl star stunned in the Basque-esque bodice dress, which, according to InStyle, was “inspired by a gown for Cristóbal Balenciaga’s 1952 collection” and took 700 hours to create. When asked about her look, Kidman replied that this dress truly was “tailored” to her. Other features include a flared, ’50s-inspired skirt, several petticoats, and bows which accentuated Kidman’s figure. Kidman’s accessories were kept to a minimum—the actress wore matching black gloves, slim diamond bracelets, and large earrings that added sparkle but didn’t draw attention away from the dress.
Or the hair.
If Kidman isn’t wearing her naturally curly hair down and straightened, she’s generally wearing a wig—but tonight it looks like she gave her hair a fresh chop and gave it a fun and fresh two-toned look. Blonde on top with brunette underneath. She wore it totally slicked back except for a piece of swoop-y bangs which framed her face.
As for her makeup look, Kidman did a simple, smoky eye with a pop of pink lip. The actress is wearing Westman Atelier (founded by celeb makeup artist Gucci Westman). Standouts include her brows which were shaped by the Bonne Brow Defining Pencil, lips in the Lip Suede Matt Lipstick (in the shade “Pinch” which is launching later this month), and flawless complexion, thanks to Vital Skincare Complexion Drops.
The entire ensemble came together gorgeously, and we’re excited to see how Kidman continues to style her new bob!
