Redken has just named model and DJ Amber Le Bon as one of the haircare brand’s new faces, joining the ranks of fellow muses Suki Waterhouse and Soo Joo Park. Come September, you’ll see Le Bon’s highlighted locks featured in the company’s sombre color trend campaign—but we have a feeling that’s just the beginning of her future visibility. Here are five things to know about this up-and-comer.

1. She’s the daughter of ’80s supermodel Yasmin Le Bon and Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon, so clearly modeling and music are in her genes. Makes sense that she’s not only snagged editorial spots in publications such as Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue but can put together a solid track list.

2. Her Instagram account is a gold-mine of inspo. If you like dreamy fashion shots, pretty outfits and a slew of hairstyle ideas, you’re going to want to hit “follow.” She’s already got 20.5K followers to her name, so she has to be doing something right.

3. She’s not afraid to experiment with her hair. “I like having big hair and backcombing it so it’s bouncy and voluminous,” Le Bon told Redken. That’s not the only statement she’s made with her strands though: We’ve spotted her in all manner of braids, topknots and even bejeweled flower crowns, but it seems like she favors long subtle waves.

4. Quite the established DJ, Le Bon has set the playlist at events for Victoria’s Secret, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli’s JustCavalli Restaurant and the British Fashion Awards. And if you’re into a solid dance mix, she’s got your number. “I like mixing house and light electro, and then throwing in some old disco songs and 90s hip-hop,” says Le Bon. “I like being able to sing along to stuff I play, because then I have more fun. And if I’m having fun, hopefully it means other people are having fun too!”

5. Brushing shoulders with celebs is apparently the usual. A quick glance through her Instagram feed revealed Le Bon posing with stars such as Olivia Palermo, designer Fausto Puglisi and Gerard Butler. NBD.

So if music, fashion and highlighted hair are your jam, make note of Amber Le Bon. At the very least, she’ll make explaining the perfect sombre to your colorist so much easier.
