It seems as if every hot model in the universe has been living on sandy island beaches this summer, making us more than a little jealous.
From Joan Smalls‘ Fiji trip to Kelly Gale‘s Croatian jaunt, each girl does vacay beauty in her own way, as evidenced by the top knots and sea salt–filled tousled waves documented on Instagram.
Until the cold weather sets in, we’ll be looking to these snaps for inspiration—even if the closest we’ll get to seeing the ocean is on our computer background.

Joan Smalls schooled us in the top knot—if you can even look past her rock-hard abs to take note. The perfect hairstyle for rolling around in the sand, Smalls got her knot high up on her head, but also kept the bun perfectly disheveled.
Doutzen Kroes also opted for a bun, but this time using water in her favor. Slicking her wet hair back, she chose a tight ballerina-style bun for her laid-back vacation, letting flyaways fall where they may.
Jourdan Dunn went au naturel while in Barbados recently, which only made us question why she doesn’t sport her curls more often.
