No Emmys invite? No problem. Thanks to Instagram, you can get a behind-the-scenes look at all the pre and post awards show activities straight from the smartphones of your favorite stars. From glam squads snapping all those gorgeous hair and makeup creations to celebs (ahem, Sofia Vergara) snapping selfies during the program, here are the best moments you didn’t see on TV. Our personal favorite? Heidi Klum‘s unbelievable manicure.
January Jones struck a statuesque pose (perhaps practicing?) as her makeup artists perfected her makeup before the waltz down the steamy Emmys red carpet.
Julianne Hough and brother Derek snapped a pic on their way to the event. And yes, the duck face was present.
But Julianne’s selfie isn’t the only thing we were impressed with. “The Dancing With the Stars” pro wore a gorgeous accessorized updo by hairstylist Riawna Capri to the Emmys. Here’s a back view of the stunning creation.
Makeup artist Kirin Bhatty gave us a glimpse of all the products she used to create “Mad Men” star Jessica Pare‘s Emmys beauty look and our beloved Simple Micellar Water ($7, target.com) made the shot. We could hoard that stuff.
Sofia Vergara snacked on some popcorn while everyone else in her row played on their phones. Sofia’s activity seems way more intriguing to us.

When you have a clutch like Mindy Kaling’s, you Instagram it. And when doing so, the star gave us a close-up view of her glossy dark red manicure.
Two things we’re fully envious of at this moment: Laura Prepon‘s eyebrows and that cup of coffee.
