Along with cooler temperatures, Fall brings rain and serious frizz. If we tried every anti-frizz hair product that claims to prevent, treat and tame our manes, we could suffer through the New Year before we found the perfect one. Or we can trust the pros and their recommendations. Fighting their clients’ frizz daily, they’ve tried them all (or most) and perfected how to use the best of the bunch. Below they share their favorite frizz fighters.

Max Green Alchemy Scalp Rescue Styling Gel ($12.99, maxgreenalchemy.com)
“I like this gel because of it’s lightness and versatility. The Aloe [infused] not only moisturizes the hair (reducing frizz potential), but it also provides hold and style. Apply to towel-dried hair, midshaft to ends or mix with a leave-in conditioner for extra thick or frizz-prone hair.”
Julie Featherman, the owner of Juju Salon & Organics, an all-natural and non-toxic salon.

It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin ($20, birchbox.com)
“This product is a multi-tasking product that leaves hair softer, shinier, and more manageable. It adds moisture [and keratin] right in the cuticle layer of the hair to smooth strands. It also protects color from fading!”
Frank Friscioni, co-color director at Oscar Blandi in New York

L’Oréal Professionnel Liss Unlimited Smoothing Dual Serum ($23, us.lorealprofessionnel.com)
“It’s a dual pump serum that has protein [and lightweight oils] to help fight frizz [and strengthen hair] along with a cream base to help with hold. It’s especially great for highly textured hair.”
Emily Woodstrom, stylist at Hairitage ‘Hous Salon

Joico K-Pak Protect and Shine Serum ($17.49, loxabeauty.com)
“This serum is not only a blow dry prepping product, but it’s equally as effective as a finishing product. It goes on before blow drying to protect as a barrier against heat by sealing the cuticle. It also contains keratin silicone which is light enough to use as a finishing product for the ends and flyaways after the hair is dry.”
Paul Norton, celeb stylist to Robin Wright and Gina Rodriguez

Iso Tamer Foam ($11.99, loxabeauty.com)
“It keeps curls at their most hydrated state [with proteins and humectants] which helps create a smooth frizz-free appearance. [Plus, a type of gum softens the internal bonds of the hair.] My clients love it as a year-round product because it lightens up heavy gels for finer haired curly girls and has a lot of expansion, making it super easy to spread through curls.”
Allison Bridges, the owner of Curl Evolution

Oribe Impereable Anti-Humidity Spray ($39, oribe.com)
“I recommend it to everyone! It contains a copolymer to hold styles in heat and humidity, while preventing the hair from frizzing. You simply spray on hair after styling to block the frizz or use before styling for texture and hold.”
Kacey Welch, a senior master colorist and extension expert at Jonathan and George Salon

Leonor Greyl Eclat Naturel ($46, leonorgreyl-usa.com)
“After a blowout, I use a few drops of this moisture-rich styling cream [with shea butter and jojoba oil] and comb through hair to immediately control frizz and flyaways. It can also be used on wet hair to prevent frizz when drying.”
Ricardo Rojas, celebrity hairstylist

Kérastase Bain Fluidealiste Shampoo & Conditioner ($40 each, kerastase-usa.com)
“These products have amino acids and cerarmides [a type of lipid that naturally smoothes the hair] to replenish hair, which is extremely important when dealing with frizz. They create a smooth surface that’s resistant to humidity.”
Arthur Shamalov, stylist at Oscar Blandi

It’s a 10 Miracle Styling Potion ($20, ulta.com)
“It’s an all hands on deck effort to fight frizz in Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia with hot, humid air blowing off of the Chesapeake Bay. I apply this lotion in a dime-size amount to damp hair and comb through so panthenol, a provitamin of B5 and active ingredient [it attracts moisture and binds it], coats each strand. Unlike other de-frizz products, it is weightless and other styling products can be applied after.”
Liz Sarvinas, owner of Hair by Ell

Living Proof No Frizz Weightless Styling Spray ($36, livingproof.com)
“It’s truly weightless on all hair types. It works with a new molecule (invented at MIT) that blocks humidity and fills in the cuticle of your hair, giving it great shine and frizz-free finish and keeps it that way because of the humidity-blocking feature!”
Max Gierl, senior stylist at Mizu New York
