5 Buns to Show Off Your Scarf Collection
It’s October and that means we can officially take out the scarf collection. And what better way to give our neck coverups the spotlight than by pulling the hair back in a chic bun? Test drive these gorgeous versions we spotted on the red carpet.

To keep hair completely up and out of your face, copy Katy Perry‘s sleek topknot. Starting with damp hair, apply a light amount of argan oil at the root to smooth out any flyaways. Pull the hair tightly back into a ponytail. Twist the hair around the elastic and pin in place.

Even with short hair, Julianne Hough sported the braided-up bun. The trick is to stop French braiding and do a classic braid when the layers start to get short. Finish the braid off with a clear elastic. Then gather the rest of the hair (and the braid) into a simple topknot.

Give a topknot more character with random twists, like Amanda Seyfried‘s. First pull hair tightly into a high ponytail. For subtle height on top, tease hair lightly with a comb. Then separate the ponytail in two sections and twist them in opposite directions. When wrapping both pieces around the elastic, intertwine them around one another.
