Get The Look: Easy Braids At The Teen Choice Awards

The Hollywood Award season is starting up again, and with that we have so many new hairstyles to admire and replicate. Last night, we saw a trend of different braids that can easily be recreated by even the least talented braider. Check out the looks below by award winners Lucy Hale, Kristen Stewart and Nina Dobrev!

Get The Look: A 3-Minute Topknot

Lucy Hale’s Voluminous Side Braid

The side braid is the perfect option for a rushed morning, making you look a little put together. (I am currently sporting one for that very reason.) But if you want to mix it up a little, add volume on the sides like Pretty Little Liars’ Lucy Hale did.

Step 1: Use a texturizing spray, such as Alterna Summer Hair Ocean Waves Texturizing Spray ($20, Buy.com), to get a rougher texture for this braid.

Step 2: Pull hair to one side and start to braid. Finish with an elastic at the very tip of the hair.

Step 3: Tug at the hair just above the ears to get volume on the sides and continue throughout the plait for a messy finish.

Step 4: Spritz a hairspray, such as TRESemme Tres Two Hair Spray ($5.49, Drugstore.com), on the braid and lightly on the top of the hair, to keep in place.
