I Tried the Tarte x The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Collab & Here’s What’s Actually Worth Buying

Have you ever gotten stuck between staying in and going out on a balmy Friday night? Some evenings call for a full glam and kitten heels, while another means a sheet mask, fizzy mocktail, and binge-watching your guilty pleasure show like Season 2 AND the reunion episode (out July 1st!) of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Well, Tarte gave us the best of both worlds with their first-ever television collab with the fun and drama-filled #MomTok docuseries, which had two sets – “Saints” and “Sinners”.
“Saints” is for the rule follower, inclusive of the Maracuja Juicy Melt Mask, Tartelette XL Tubing Mascara , and the Shape Tape Blur Concealer Stick. “Sinners” is for the rule breaker, with the iconic Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump, Lights, Camera, Lashes Platinum Mascara , and the Shape Tape Concealer.
I have been a long-time lover of Tarte since my teenage days in the aughts. I remember their Amazonian Clay Blush like it was yesterday, so when I found out that you can snag their viral products in these packages, I was eager to test out which set goes further in your vanity. Over the course of a few days, I piloted both to see which one is worth your pick.

SAINTS
Favorite from the set: Tartelette XL Tubing Mascara
I tried out “Saints’ on a relaxed yet humid weekend, filled with leisurely coffee walks and a workout class. Since it was a warm Sunday, I decided to forego any foundation and throw on some Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen as a base instead, paired with some dabs of the Shape Tape Blur Concealer Stick in 29N along my undereyes and t-zone. A few quick swipes of the Tartelette XL Tubing Mascara , Milani Stay Put Tinted Brow Mousse in Brown, Ogee Sculpted Face Stick in Carnelian on the cheeks, and a puckered up Maracuja Juicy Melt Mask in Drizzle, and I was out the door.
My makeup gave the ultimate angelic clean-girl look, and everything minus the lip mask (which required a few re-applications) surprised me by lasting through the whole day. My lashes were light, feathery and gently curled from the tubing mascara, and my skin was somehow breathing through the full coverage concealer. I felt ready to lean into girly Mormon sisterhood or tackle any potential scandal my way with how put together I looked, even after some sweaty pilates. Taylor Frankie Paul, who?
SINNERS
Favorite from the set: Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump
For the Sinners set, I amped up the look for an office day, preceded with a quick AM errand run and a less quick happy hour drink. I required a stronger base for a full 9-5 in a corporate air conditioned building, so I started off with the Milani Conceal + Perfect Blur Out Smoothing Primer and Elf Halo Glow Liquid Filter in Shade 3, before topping it off with the Shape Tape Concealer in 34S. I wanted to go for a dewy summer look, so I paired that with the Ogee Sculpted Face Stick in Amber on the cheekbones and Topaz in the cheek hallows, giving me the utmost faux facial glow.
Eyes were done up once again by my current brow obsession, Milani Stay Put Tinted Brow Mousse in Brown , along with the Lights, Camera, Lashes Platinum Mascara , which gave my straight Asian lashes a subtle boost. Leaning into this season’s “guava girl”, I applied the viral Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump in Lotus for the full day of work ahead. (Fun Fact: Sarah Jessica Parker also recently endorsed this on her IG.)
Throughout the duration of my longer weekday, my mascara did smudge by hour five, but the Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump was tingly, smooth, glossy and lasted a good few hours before reapplication. Overall, my makeup still felt as sharp and conniving as Demi Engemann. I even got compliments on my lip color, which was a lovely bonus cosign.
My final jurisdiction? TBH, Tarte knows its audience. Its products are scandalous, juicy, and all about girlhood just like the show, so the Hulu collab makes perfect sense. Both sets offer great value and fantastic adds to your makeup bag, so you really can’t go wrong with either, or better yet, both.
