Connor Storrie’s Dewy No Makeup-Makeup Look at the Golden Globes Is Thanks to This Millennial-Beloved Brand

We've been swearing by this stuff for the past decade.

Connor Storrie’s Golden Globes debut was more glorious than we ever could have imagined (and we/I have spent a lot of time imagining). The Heated Rivalry star made plenty of headlines with his uncharacteristically straightened hair, but I couldn’t help but notice his skin. On behalf of StyleCaster, I attended the Golden Globes, and was lucky to catch Storrie on the red carpet—I was able to see for myself how fresh-faced, dewy, and absolutely perfect Storrie’s complexion looked.

Turns out, Storrie—who is very much Gen Z—fully embraced a makeup brands we Millennials have been swearing by for years. Celebrity groomer Candice Birns used Milk Makeup to give Storrie that ultra-hydrated, understated look for his first award show red carpet appearance.

“When it comes to red carpet, complexion is everything. I started by applying a small amount of Milk Makeup’s unreleased complexion product around the eyes to subtly brighten and even the complexion. Then I followed with the Hydro Grip Hydrating Gel Skin Tint across the rest of the face for sheer, natural coverage,” Birns says in a press release.

Skin tint generally offers minimal coverage—a step up from a tinted moisturizer, but not nearly as creamy and buildable as a foundation. This skin tint breaks all the rules and offers lightweight coverage that helps cover up blemishes and uneven-ness while letting your natural skin shine. Formulated using Milk’s Hydro Grip skin technology, it has long-lasting power, making it perfect for occasions like, well, the Golden Globes. The ingredient list is ultra nourishing (it features skincare ingredients like hyaluronic acid and niacinamide) so it just feels like another step in your morning routine.

For more context: The Globes took place on a chilly, dry day in Los Angeles, and stars went from being outdoors to an indoor red carpet that was not super air-conditioned (and got stuffy, fast). Celebs need makeup products that can handle a variety of elements, as well as any nerve-induced sweat. Considering Storrie was presenting at the Globes, and it was his first time, he absolutely needed a foundation that would stay put even if he got the jitters.

Birns also used some bronzer for natural color, tinted lip balm to make those lips pop, a Hailey Bieber-beloved lamination gel, and of course, setting spray.

“After my base is completed, I lightly swept the Matte Bronzer onto the cheeks, then softly blended across the temples, forehead, and down the bridge of the nose to add warmth and a healthy glow. I finished with a touch of Balmade Electrolyte Tinted Lip Balm for natural color, set the brows in place with KUSH Brow Lamination Gel, and lock everything in with a mist of Hydro Grid Hydrating Setting Spray,” Birns says.

Matte Bronzer
If you’re looking for a bronzer that’s on the more natural side of pigment, Milk’s Matte Bronzer is a great choice. You can tell this gave Storrie’s cheeks and jawline definition and sun kissed color. Since it’s a balm, it’s easy to apply (you can even blend in with your fingers if you’re on the go).

Milk’s Balmade, which is described as a “sports drinks for thirsty lips” is the ideal tinted lip balm for long days. Considering Storrie was giving interviews all day and all night long, it’s crucial that Birns picked a lip tint that actually stayed put, which this one does. It simultaneously nourishes dry lips with ingredients that draw in moisture.

KUSH Brow Lamination Gel
Another great pick for all-day wear, this lamination gel holds brows in place without getting too crispy or flaking off (the worst!). It’s such a good formula, even Hailey Bieber swears by it.

Lastly, the product that ties it all together: the Hydro Grip setting spray. It’s known to lock in makeup while keeping your complexion dewy and looking nice and moisturized. Like all of Milk’s products, its approach is always skin-first, so you get performance as well as healthy ingredients for healthy skin.

We Millennials have been swearing by Milk Makeup since its launch (back in 2016), so obviously we approve of Ilya Rozanov Connor Storrie’s makeup choice for the Globes.

If you’re wondering what Storrie’s Heated Rivalry counterpart wore on his face to the Globes, we have that information, too!
