It’s not an unusual thing for couples to begin to resemble one another. It’s not even unusual for owners and their dogs to share the same features – there is an entire MAC Cosmetics collection dedicated to it. But nothing says squad goals quite like matching with your BFF. We’ve seen street style stars coordinate their outfits, and celebs declare their friendship via similar styles, haircuts and more.
But lately, we’ve been noticing a number of celeb besties gravitating toward the same beauty trends. From wearing a matching red lip to opting for the same sultry eye, makeup twinning with your BFF is the new must-try.
Case in point, Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swift. No two besties have mastered the matchy-matchy look quite like these two. Not only do they both rock a dirty blonde bob, but their makeup styles are beginning to become one. In fact, for the pair’s March Vogue photo shoot, Swift ditched her red lips and cat eyes in favor of a more natural bronzed glow—just like Kloss.
But Kloss is no stranger to matching with her gal pals. The model looked like a mirror image of fellow model and friend Gigi Hadid with this retro-inspired cat eye, perfectly strobed cheeks and nude pout. Seeing double, anyone?
Even Rihanna and Cara Delevingne got in on the action. The duo share a lot more than just a wild streak. The pair channeled the same vintage vibes while getting ready together by donning a crisp cherry red lipstick.
This next “are they sisters?” moment came from none other than runway stunners Joan Smalls and Jourdan Dunn. Yes, both ladies have long, dark hair. Yes, both have a killer fashion sense. And yes, both have legs for days. But nothing made us look twice more so than when these ladies both hit up the red carpet with beyond sexy smoky eye and au naturel lips.
Okay so these two might actually be sisters, but Kendall and Kylie Jenner took the term doppelgänger to a whole new level. Despite having vastly different beauty styles, the Jenners not only both chose streamline white gowns for the red carpet, but they both also showed off impeccably groomed brows, doe-eyed lashes and supple lips.
Lastly, one of the best #twinning moments also comes from Kylie Jenner. This time, instead of pairing with her sister, the 18-year-old caused us to do a double take when she posted a snap of her and YouTuber Honey Natalia. With arched brows, lengthy lashes and plump pouts, these ladies can easily be mistaken for one another.
So next time you and your gal pals get ready to hit the town, pause and look around. You might actually resemble your squad more than you thought. After all, nothing says friendship quite like being mistaken for sisters–or twins.
