Taking off your makeup before you hit the sack every night, regardless of the circumstances (Too tired? Too drunk? Get over it!), is something we preach as the most important thing you can do for your skin.

Still, we’ll admit to having the occasional slip-up—we’re only human after all. Apparently so is Kim Kardashian, who confessed her guilty secret in a speech honoring makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury at the InStyle Awards.

“Charlotte Tilbury is my hero because she has never let her husband see her without makeup on,” announced Kim. “She sleeps with her makeup on. She’s my idol. She’s inspired me when I am really lazy, and I can’t do my makeup the next day, so I’ll sleep in my makeup.” Consider our pearls clutched. “I know that’s probably the worst advice,” she admits. “But she has all the magic creams to put on the next day to make up for it.”

So there you go: Not only does the reality star Kim Kardashian sleep in full-face foundation, bronzer, mascara, blush, and whatever else she regularly uses to get her signature look, but the equally lovely Charlotte Tilbury does too. Honestly, we don’t know what to believe anymore, though we will say that if you can’t let your husband see you without makeup on, you probably shouldn’t be married to him in the first place.
