Kylie Jenner’s Latest Creation, Coachella-Inspired Metal Matte Lipstick, Is Here
Another day, another Kylie Cosmetics release (seriously, this is happening all the time now): Last night, teen makeup mogul Kylie Jenner went all out on social media—Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, et al—to announce her new Metal Matte Lipsticks, just in time for Coachella. Cue the blood-curdling screams from the under-18 demographic, many of whom have already wilded out with the “UGH NEED THOSE”/”Omg I want”/”Lb” commentary.
There’s the warm, rusty bronze, called Reign (as in Disick); King (as in King Cairo Stevenson, boyfriend Tyga’s child with ex Blac Chyna, who’s now engaged to Kylie’s half-brother Rob—oh, what tangled webs we weave!), which is straight-up yellow gold; and Heir, a pale rose gold shade that looks pretty great on big sis Khloé Kardashian.

The hook here is that the three new options are both metallic and matte, so they presumably have an ultra-reflective shimmery effect with a matte finish. Not sure how this is possible, as we’re pretty certain “matte” and “metallic” are mutually exclusive by nature, but it seems like just the kind of thing the kids would want in advance of Coachella. Smart thinking, Kylie.
No word yet on the actual release date, but considering they’re tied to the music festival, which takes place this coming weekend and the next, it’ll probably be very, very soon.
