We don’t want to insult Greta Gerwig by saying that she’s one to watch, because she’s been one to watch for a while now. We’ve been following the actress since her unmissable turn in “Frances Ha,” and even then we were embarrassed to admit that we hadn’t caught onto her sooner. She’s amazing—smart, funny, brilliant to watch on camera, and beyond charming in each and every interview, the kind of up-and-comer we want to be our best friend.

And now that she’s appearing on more red carpets than ever, we’re watching her for an entirely different reason, too. Greta is making her way from mumblecore indie starlet to true Hollywood fixture, and with her rise to stardom she’s bringing along a slew of new beauty looks. In the past few weeks alone, she’s debuted some seriously cool braids, a fresh, edgy haircut, and an impressive knack for choosing soft, flattering makeup that makes her look like the best version of herself.

Case in point: at last night’s premiere of “Mistress America,” Greta opted for the rare neutral look that managed to be anything but boring. A sheer, satiny rose color on lips, long yet low-key lashes, and the naturally full brows we’ve always dreamed of growing—and we’re particularly impressed by her ability to maintain glowing, dewy strobe light skin without looking greasy, even under hot camera lights. We’ve always said that a little powder just under the eyes and down the T-zone can do wonders. Greta, we like your style.
