French Summer Obsession
Every once in a while I revisit a favorite product line from overseas to rediscover how amazing it is and consider how it could fit into my lifestyle. That is how it went recently with the plant-based line of skincare and makeup from France called Nuxe Paris. I have loved this line for many years and discovered it on a trip to Paris in my 20s.
My top summer picks from the line work so well with the heat and humidity because of their lightweight, yet luxurious formulas. The 24 Hr Creme Fraiche Energizing Moisturizing Cream ($44.50, Beauty.com) keeps my skin hydrated after a long day at the beach, restoring my thirsty skin with hydrating nutrients.
The Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm ($19, B-glowing.com) with honey and precious oils is for dry or chapped lips and feels like silky butter, so I keep this on my nightstand and apply before bed each night.
Now for the fun beach-y products in the line…There is the Multi-Purpose Care Multi-Usage Compact Bronzing Powder ($39, Ariva.com). It contains vitamins E and ceramide for healthy skin. The micronized pearl pigments give skin a sun-kissed glow. I use this on my face, décolleté, shoulders and arms during the day, as it’s really sheer when applied with a big fluffy powder brush.
For a glorious sunset shimmer on the body, which looks amazingly sexy on a hot summer night, smooth on the Multi-Usage Dry Oil Golden Shimmer ($41, Dermstore.com). With six luscious oils and vitamin E, it will give an epic glow to the skin and then kick it up a hot notch with the gold sparkle it contains. I also like to lightly smoothe the excess oil onto my hair and dry ends to condition it after exposing my strands to too much chlorine or salt water.
