Cheap Summer Thrills
Each new season we all tend to get super excited about the hot of-the-moment trends in makeup, but we are often left wasting a ton of money on colors and products that simply do not work. The best way to play with fresh trends is to buy all this hot stuff at a drugstore. No need to spend $30 on a shocking pink lipstick that you wore once or drop $28 dollars on that electric blue eyeliner you saw in Cosmo but made you look like a Cindy Lauper throwback to the 80s with this great tip.
Take a cheap trip to the drugstore with your “It List” in hand and start filling up your basket with inexpensive versions of what is trendy now. Some of my favorites for eyes, cheeks, lips and nails are all under $5, so you can rock the runway in your real life and not break the bank.
1. For eyes this season try NYX Retractable Eyeliner in Turquoise Blue or Aqua Green ($4.50, NYXcosmetics.com).
2. Cheeks look quite rosy and romantic this season when dusted with e.l.f. Studio Blush in Pink Passion ($3, Eyeslipsface.com), and at such a low price, it would be a crime not to try it.
3. Lips look super sexy in glosses that say summertime like Rimmel Moisture Renew Cream Lipgloss With SPF 15 ($6.15, Drugstore.com) in colors like Red Action, Pink Spa or Rose Cocoon.
4. On nails, use fun bright polish as a summertime accessory, like Milani Neon Nail Lacquer ($4.99, Milanicosmetics.com) in Awesome Orange, Rad Purple, Fresh Teal, Dude Blue and Pink Rocks. They will keep you on point with the trends and your accountant.
