Say what you will about Meghan Markle (or maybe don’t—it’s Friday and I just want to check my silly little emails and log off for the weekend, okay??!!) but the As Ever founder has insanely good skin. Whatever she’s having, I want it. Markle is ageless, and consistently has this lit-from-within glow that I want to emulate. Luckily for me, Markle has not only been talking about her skincare routine for years, but she recently linked to all her most-used products on her Shop My page, where we learned she’s a big fan of Japanese-inspired brand Tatcha.
She and her makeup artist have also been quoted in the past saying she uses Tatcha, specifically the Rice Polish Exfoliator , Water Cream, and Dewy Cream. So when I got the chance to test the brand new Dewy Milk Moisturizer , which was LITERALLY formulated by the makeup artist who did Markle’s wedding make-up (Daniel Martin, Tatcha’s Global Director of Artistry), I jumped at the opportunity, and immediately incorporated it into my daily routine.
Martin tells Byrdie, “We wanted to create a product with a weightless feel—something that feels luxurious and intuitive, while delivering that signature glow.” My favorite thing about it is how well it plays with makeup. So many skincare products cause pilling, but not this formulation. It actually enhances it and prevents cakeyness. “It delivers the perfect radiant finish under makeup,” he says, adding that “it leaves the skin incredibly bouncy and glowy,” Martin says.

My skin has been going through it lately. Due to hormonal changes, I’m breaking out and dealing with an uneven complexion that’s also pretty oily but turns into a desert the second I apply foundation (think instant cakey-ness, a problem that I’ve noticed more and more now that I’m in my—gulp—mid-30s). Once I started using the Dewy Milk Moisturizer , that changed immediately, and in the photo above, you can actually see how freakin’ dewy and glow-y my skin looks with makeup on—and that’s thanks to the moisturizer. Yes, I’m wearing foundation and blush, but my skin doesn’t look dry!
The texture is—you guessed it—milky, but gives you the same effects of a denser cream. However, it still feels lightweight, which makes it perfect for summer. When I wear it on its own, my skin appears as though I applied a highlighter like Saie Glowy Illuminator (also a favorite product of mine when I want to look more alive).
I’ve been using it for about two weeks, and can confirm it’s made my skin look brighter, more glow-y and has made makeup application so much more seamless and smooth. Dare I say, more Meghan Markle-esque? You tell me!
