Biossance is one of the most beloved clean skincare brands on the market: The biotech-led skin care has gotten a lot of hype from celebs and their estheticians (including Reese Witherspoon, Vanessa Kirby, Thandie Newton, and Whitney Port) as well as beauty and wellness editors whose jobs are to find the best and brightest goos on the market. So when I learned the brand launched a new eye cream, I figured it had viral beauty potential—and I wasn’t wrong.

The Squalane + 5% Niacinamide Brightening Eye Serum claims to brighten, de-puff, and hydrate with a “first-of-its-kind” roll-on lymphatic applicator that feels cool and soothing on tender under-eye skin. As someone who regularly only gets maybe 3 hours of consecutive sleep (my baby is always going through a sleep regression), the idea of a product that’s not only effective but physically feels good to wear piqued my interest.

Biossance's Squalane Brightening Eye Serum Is Worth the Hype

Key ingredients:

5% Niacinamide: Derived from vitamin B3, niacinamide is one of my favorite ingredients I look to for my 35-year-old skin. Its main function is to brighten, and this potent dose works overtime to reduce the appearance of dark circles.

Vitamin C: It’s in oil-soluble form, so it’s more shelf-stable and has a longer lifespan in your bathroom cabinet. Vitamin C is a derm-favorite for tired, aging skin, as it naturally brightens the complexion.

Caffeine: Coffee doesn’t just wake up your brain—it wakes up your under-eyes too. Reducing inflammation, caffeine is a popular eye cream ingredient because it really does work.

Dual Peptides: This ingredient helps reduce puffiness.

Squalane: Biossance’s squalane is derived from sugarcane, which is actually what Biossance is known for formulating. The sugarcane squalane is bio-identical to the squalane human skin produces, but is vegan and ethically sourced (versus traditionally-engineered squalane). Its main function is to hydrate and soften skin.

Customers are already raving about the formula, with one 63-year-old shopper writing, “I have been using this for about three weeks and the skin around my 63-year-old eyes does look brighter! It feels so cool when applying—love the sensation. I look forward to applying every day!”

Another notes how much she appreciates the application: “I was impressed on how easy it was to apply. I played with this for 30 days and saw an increase on how moisturized my under eyes felt. Packaging was impressive since I did not have to use my fingers. Loved this eye product & would purchase over again!”

As the cherry on top, it’s fragrance free, which makes it ideal for folks with sensitive skin (this was also heavily noted in the reviews).

If you’re looking for an effective eye cream that helps with both under-eye bags and dark circles, this is one you should add to cart ASAP.
