I’m a Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm girlie through and through, but if I were to lose my beloved red tube, that’s $24 down the drain. While I do believe this product is worth every penny, not everyone can (or wants to) shell out $24 for a lip balm. The formula is sold out at Sephora—except for the clear shade—so you literally can’t order it right now. That’s why I bring to you the Naturium Phyto-Glow Lip balm, a $10 Summer Fridays alternative that shoppers swear by.
To look at the two formulas side by side, let’s first dive into each product’s ingredient list.
Both balms contain nourishing butters that leave your pout soft, smooth, and moisturized . Additionally, both are paraben-free, vegan, gluten-free, and cruelty-free.

They also each add a stunning, sheer tint to your lips. The Naturium product comes in 13 shades according to the brand’s site (although not all of them are currently in stock), while the Summer Friday product comes in seven shades according to the brand’s site. If you pay close attention to the shade offerings, you’ll notice that a handful of them match up. Naturium’s Lychee resembles Summer Fridays’ Cherry (my personal fave), Spritz resembles Poppy, and so on.
Whichever tube you choose, you’re going to end up with a glossy, moisturized pout. However, if you’re shopping on a budget or unwilling to spend $24 on a lip balm, Amazon shoppers are flocking to the reviews section to tout Naturium’s formula as an effective and cheaper alternative to the viral Summer Fridays one.
“I was/am a Summer Fridays girl but this is a perfect, cheaper dupe. This is my second tube (I lost the first one) and I didn’t feel as bad spending another $10 on it compared to $24 w/ SF. 10/10 recommend,” wrote one reviewer.
“Let’s just say I’m a big fan; similar feel on the lips , nice vanilla flavor, and less than half the price (depending on where you purchase it),” raved another happy shopper. “Definitely recommend trying it out if you need a good lip balm. I will be purchasing some of the tinted options too.”
“It has a nice tint and it smells really good. It reminds me of Summer Fridays lip balm,” another one commented.
Naturium’s Phyto-Glow Lip Balm is currently out of stock at Target, but there are three shades available on Amazon. Plus, it’s on sale for $10 on Amazon , so stock up and save while you can!

If you still find yourself loyal to Summer Fridays, the brand’s Lip Butter Balm is almost completely out of stock at Sephora, but there are four shades available at Revolve ($24).
