Under-Eye Patches Are the New Selfie Must-Have

From VS Angels to Olympic athletes, everyone's doing it.
Are Eye Patches the Next Selfie Trend?

Celebs haven’t been shy about giving us a peek into their beautifying routines on social media, and one of the biggest themes we’ve been noticing lately is under-eye patches. Everyone from Victoria’s Secret models to Olympic athletes has been snapping selfies while wearing a set of half-moon adhesive strips beneath their peepers.

And we can’t blame them: If you’ve ever used a set, you know how amazing they are for hydrating and de-puffing that super-sensitive skin. They’re also great for making dark circles less visible, which may be one of the top reasons you’re slathering on concealer.

Most patches are packed with moisturizing ingredients such as glycerin and ceramides, which help prevent moisture from escaping your skin. Many are disposable and take about a half hour to deliver results.

We haven’t seen a ton of finished-look pics, but we do know angels Behati Prinsloo and Lily Aldridge started off their Victoria’s Secret shoot in Rome with under-eye patches.

While prepping backstage, Adriana Lima and Lais Riberio gave them a shot, layering their eye patches beneath a full-face sheet mask for extra hydration.

Stella Maxwell couldn’t help but join in on the fun—perhaps doubling up is the secret to flawless, angel-worthy skin?

Under-eye patches are a popular choice for celebrities before a big event, and they tend to pop up before awards shows. Case in point: US Women’s Soccer player Hope Solo used Talika’s Eye Therapy Patches ($67) before attending the ESPYs.

Jessica Lowndes called out Valerie Beverly Hills Eye Masks ($50) for helping revive her tired eyes at home.

While the ones favored by celebs will set you back a pretty penny, there are tons of under-eye patches that are reasonably priced—and trust us, you get your money’s worth. Altchek MD Eye Gel Pads (10 for $20) are packed with vitamin E, glycerin and aloe vera, while Klorane Soothing and Relaxing Patches (7 for $21) are ideal for sensitive skin.

So the next time you hop a flight or embark on a Netflix binge, consider popping on a pair of under-eye patches—and, if you’re brave enough, turning the camera lens on yourself to capture the pampering in action.
