The Kardashian-Jenner family is known for their chronic oversharing, but sometimes, we’re more than happy to hear what they’ve got to say. Case in point: Kendall and Kylie Jenner just let us all borrow their dermatologist for a day.

Dr. Christie Kidd, the Beverly Hills-based derm who deals with the entire K-J clan, broke down the stars’ skin care routines in a video filmed for Kylie’s mobile app and website. The clip focuses on the right way to layer your products, with an emphasis on the “less is more” approach. True to Dr. Kidd’s words, the lesson is surprisingly simple and easy to follow: She instructs her celebrity clients to use a cleanser, sunscreen, and a light moisturizer in the morning, followed by makeup removal, cleanser, serum, moisturizer, eye cream, and lip balm at night.

The doc responsible for clearing up Kendall’s acne also had one shocking tip to share: She actually urges people to avoid using tinted moisturizers for coverage and daytime wear. Dr. Kidd says that, because moisturizer formulas are intended to sink deep into the layers of your skin for maximum absorption, the color pigments in tinted moisturizers can actually clog the pores and lead to breakouts. We would never have known—and there goes Dr. Kidd, making the case for legit foundation even stronger.
