Caitlyn Jenner is penning a tell-all memoir about her life and transition, according to the New York Times, and she’s not going at it alone—the former Olympian will be co-writing the book with Pulitzer Prize–winning writer Buzz Bissinger, who spent hundreds of hours with Jenner reporting on her struggle with gender dysphoria for his Vanity Fair cover story last June.
True, we’ve already got a look at Jenner’s new life as a woman thanks to I Am Cait, but the memoir promises to have “everything on the table,” Bissinger told the Times.
“I made it clear to her before I agreed that…nothing can be left out,” he added. “She’s been incredibly open, and I think it has potential to be a really important book.”
So, instead of highly produced and choreographed moments (we’re looking at you, I Am Cait), the memoir promises a no-holds-barred look at Jenner’s Olympic success, her relationship with Kardashian matriarch Kris and the rest of the Kardashian/Jenner empire, and of course, more details of how she transitioned.
“Things have been moving so quickly that it will be nice to slow things down a bit and take the proper time to reflect on this journey,” Jenner, 66, said in a statement. “I couldn’t pick a better team…to make sure this story is told with a lot of honesty and care.”
The yet-untitled book, to be published by Grand Central Publishing, is due out sometime in Spring 2017. We can’t wait to dig in.
