Sending condolences. After the news of her husband’s death, many Aubrey Plaza fans might be wondering if she’s still presenting at the Golden Globes.

Plaza’s husband Jeff Baena died by suicide on January 3, 2025. The indie filmmaker has worked alongside his actress wife in works like Life After Beth, The Little Hours, and Spin Me Round. He was found in his Los Angeles home by his assistant at around 10:30 in the evening, according to law enforcement officials to ABC News. The White Lotus actress was announced as a Golden Globes presenter a day before his death, alongside actors like Andrew Garfield, Colman Domingo, Demi Moore, and Mindy Kaling. The Golden Globes will air on January 5, 2025 at 8 p.m. EST.

Is Aubrey Plaza attending the Golden Globes?

Aubrey Plaza is still scheduled to present at the 82nd annual Golden Globes. The Agatha All Along actress has not addressed her husband’s death at the time of writing.

Plaza and Baena tied the knot in 2021 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic after 10 years of dating. The Parks and Recreation alum recalled how they got married on a whim in time for their 10 year anniversary.  “We got a little bored one night. We got married and I’ll tell you how: Onehourmarriage.com. That’s real, look it up,” she said on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Plaza booked a man from the website to marry them while they were wearing tie-dye pajamas. “I created a very quick love altar in our yard. Facts of our love, little stones, smoke, fire. Things of that nature. Then the man from Alhambra showed up in a Hawaiian shirt with a briefcase [to perform the ceremony]. … I can’t remember a lot of it, it was fuzzy. But I’m pretty sure it’s legal.”

As creative collaborators, Baena gushed about working with his wife. “She’s awesome,” he said on the Reel Talker podcast in 2022. “I’d be working with her if she wasn’t my wife, but luckily she is my wife. The opportunity to do something creative where we’re both fulfilled. How rare is that?”
