Patrick Mahomes is looking to make the type of history few people can lay claim to on Super Bowl Sunday. If Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs win their third-straight Super Bowl trophy, they will become the first team in NFL history to do so. If Mahomes wins, he will up his Super Bowl rings total to 4 and join legends like Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw.

Of course, the number still leaves him 3 shy of the QB with the most Super Bowls in history—Tom Brady, who will ironically be in the announcer’s booth during Super Bowl LIX. Brady also won five Super Bowl MVPs, so it’s true that Mahomes still has a way to go if he wants to reach those numbers. It’s also true that if he wins, and considering the team he has, he’ll have a better shot at Brady numbers than anyone ever has.

Mahomes will be accompanied by his family as he attempts to make history, particularly his mom Randi Martin. But who is Patrick Mahomes’ mom Randi Martin and how much of an influence has she played in his career?

Who is Patrick Mahomes’ mom Randi Martin?

Patrick Mahomes’ mother, Randi Martin, is originally from Texas. She and Patrick Mahomes’ father, Pat Mahomes, a former MLB pitcher, married in the 90s and divorced in 2006. Martin has three kids, Patrick Mahomes Jr., Jackson Mahomes, who is an influencer, and Mia Randall, her youngest daughter from another relationship.

Martin has been very supportive of her son during his very successful career, and she plans to keep supporting him as his team goes for a third straight Super Bowl. In fact, she might just have one of the most important jobs in that day—at least outside the field.

The QB’s mom shared with Page Six that she would be on “grandma duty,” during the game. Mahomes and his wife Brittany have three children, Sterling, 3, Bronze, 2, and Golden, who was born less than a month ago. “That’s the most excited I will be ’cause all three are gonna be there,” Randi Martin said. “So, I may or may not watch the game, but I will be holding the grandbabies!”

And yes, that includes the youngest one, who was born less than a month ago, on January 12—coincidentally, during the Chief’s playoff bye week. Patrick and Brittany Mahomes announced the news on Instagram, with a photo of a black-and-white snap of the two holding the baby’s feet. “Golden Raye Mahomes 1/12/25 🎀✨,” read the caption on the post.

Grandma confirmed that the baby would be present for Super Bowl LIX, sharing that her son “really wants all three [of his kids] to be there,” and adding that “it’s special for him.” Mahomes added during press for the Super Bowl about his newborn daughter, “She’s been amazing, she’s been sleeping well. Mom’s been extremely happy, and I’m excited for her to be able to come. I think it’ll be her first football game at the Super Bowl, and I hope that we get her a win.”

Grandma will be there to help, she confirmed, in a “really big” suite, with “a lot of friends and family.” But her priority will be her grandkids. That’ll help her take her mind off what her son is trying to accomplish. “I’m really trying not to think as much on it. I just try to think about other things, and then when I get here, ‘I’m like, ‘Oh, my goodness,” she also told Page Six. “So it’s, like, I take it day to day. But when it gets down to this, it’s, like, hour to hour.”
