We all love a good podcast, and two of the biggest names in the genre are Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper and Alix Earle, who joined the Unwell podcast network in 2023 and hosts Hot Mess With Alix Earle. The two podcasts are very different, with Cooper now perhaps better known for the high-profile interviews she has landed in the last year, including former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Earl’s podcast, on the other hand, is just a distillation of her TikTok persona. So, basically, it’s a relationship podcast with a weekly recap of Earle’s life, which includes a lot of partying. It always seemed the two podcasts—and their hosts—complemented each other well, and Cooper and Earle seemed to get along very well when the collaboration was first announced, with the Unwell podcast network looking to cater to Gen Z audiences with “unique voices that embrace social challenges and personal insecurities through honest conversation.”

These days, however, fans are sure all is not well with the two, with some people even suggesting Earle is not happy to be doing a weekly podcast and could be ready to jump ship. But what happened with Alix Earle and Alex Cooper? Here’s what we know.

What happened with Alix Earle and Alex Cooper?

Alix Earle‘s podcast had been dropped from Cooper’s Unwell Network on February 25, 2025. Variety also reported that SiriusXM will also no longer sell ads for the show and that the Unwell Network has renounced all rights to her podcast Hot Mess so that Earle can freely explore future opportunities. Earle was one of Cooper’s original signees to Unwell Network alongside Madeline Argy.

Rumors or a supposed feud are mostly based on circumstantial evidence, but it’s compelling evidence nonetheless. First, there’s the fact that Earle hasn’t attended Unwell podcast network publicity events in a while. That includes the network’s Super Bowl party—despite the fact that Earle was in Miami for the game. Plus, there’s the fact that the network itself hasn’t been promoting Earle as much as they used to.

But there’s more. Earle’s dad TJ, who manages her career, was on an episode of her podcast in December, and interesting stuff came up. In the episode, titled, “Family, Finances & Football,” Earle said her dad was good at having “hard conversations with people” and mentioned this applied to “every deal,” particularly when people don’t realize Alix’s full potential or what “she needs to be doing.” A lot of people took this as a not-so-subtle nod to the Unwell podcast network.

In the episode, TJ also brought up some drama he had to handle for Earle recently, drama he described as a “business situation that was also something else.” After his comments, his daughter Ashton’s response was just: “teaaa.”

Fans also thought it was particularly interesting that Alix Earlie interviewed Grace O’Malley in the same week Cooper hosted Brianna Chickenfry when the two were having beef at the time. At the very least, awkward but no one cared. At worst, the communication channels in the Unwell podcast network aren’t working properly.

This had led fans to believe there’s been a breakdown between the two, and the most likely reason in fan’s minds is that Earle doesn’t really love the weekly podcasting gig. It is, after all, very different to overshare on TikTok than to structure a podcast about your life every week. There’s a lot more work that goes into it. Now, the internet is abuzz with suggestions Earle is trying to “get out of her contract.” And some had even speculated Earle would “jump ship” quickly, and it now looks like they might not be all that wrong.
