They’re one of Hollywood’s most talked about couples this year, so it would make sense for people to ask if Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds would attend the Oscars, right? The two have been making headlines since their fierce legal battle against It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni.

Blake Lively filed a complaint against Justin Baldoni on the grounds of sexual harassment and a retaliatory smear campaign. Baldoni, for his part, sued The New York Times for $250 million over the newspaper’s reported piece about the complaint. The It Ends With Us stars have been brawling it out on this lengthy legal battle and it won’t end for a while since a judge set a trial date in March 2026.

The couple have kept it pretty low-key since the lawsuit, but they appeared in public for the first time at Saturday Night Live’s 50th Anniversary. Reynolds even joked about the circumstances when Amy Poehler and Tina Fey asked him how everything is.”Why? What have you heard?” Reynolds replied. So will they make an appearance at film’s biggest night?

Are Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds going to the Oscars?

It’s highly unlikely that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are going to the Oscars. The two don’t have any projects that are nominated for the prestigious awards and they’re not listed as presenters or special guests. They also didn’t attend any of the smaller award shows leading up to the awards show.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively didn’t appear at the Golden Globes held on January 5, 2025. He was nominated for the cinematic and box office achievement category at this year’s Golden Globes ceremony for producing Deadpool & Wolverine. However, Deadline first reported that the Deadpool vs. Wolverine actor would not attend alongside his co-star Hugh Jackman. A source told Page Six that the decision to not go was made well in advance before the legal drama.

Though, hope is not lost for Ryan Reynolds, who has “hosting the Oscars” on his bucket list. He and his co-star Hugh Jackman are not available to do it for 2025, but “It would be a dream to do it one day,” he told Variety. “But I’m writing a movie for myself, Hugh [Jackman] and Shawn [Levy] to do that is not Marvel. That’s it.”
