Chris Pratt has a ton of talents but did you know one of those talents includes speaking another language? The Guardians of the Galaxy actor loves to flaunt his multilingual skills whenever he gets the chance.

Chris Pratt didn’t grow up speaking any other language and he dropped out of community college after one semester before moving to Hawaii and living off a van. I had a friend who was like, ‘Dude, you’ve got to come out here,”’ Pratt told Entertainment Weekly. ”We set up camp on the beach and lived the dream.” He got his big break when Rae Dawn Chong cast him and he has played roles in Parks and Recreation, Guardians of the Galaxy, and even more recently The Electric State. So what languages can Chris Pratt speak?

Can Chris Pratt speak German?

Chris Pratt can speak German indeed. He learned it while he was in community college, but he isn’t fluent. Özelm Evans of the German outlet Bild quizzed him on his knowledge, which impressed Jennifer Lawerence. “It’s something that’s really fun to do because I do speak a little German,” Pratt told the host. “But every time I come to Germany and I want to practice German I feel like I run into Germans who speak English and they want to practice English.”

He also made a scene to flaunt his skills during an interview with Conan O’Brien when he told a very dirty joke. “It has the f-word,” Pratt asked the host beforehand. “Is that OK?”

“Dieter and his grandfather Peter are sitting on a mountainside, and Peter says, ‘Look down there. Do you see all those houses I built? I built those with my bare hands, but do they call me Peter the House Builder? No,” Pratt began.

“And you see the church I built—that church with my bare hands, but do they call me Peter the Church Builder? No. And the wall—I worked on that wall. I built it stone by stone with my bare hands. Do they call me Peter the Wall Builder? No. But you f–k one pig…” which made the audience erupt in laughter.
