Michelle Obama talked about life in the White House with President Barack Obama on her new podcast IMO. She hosts the podcast with Craig Robinson where they go deep about the subjects that adults are usually afraid to tackle.

“Let’s be real: we are living through some really complicated and confusing times, and people are feeling more alone than ever,” Michelle says in the trailer for the podcast titled IMO, short for In My Opinion. “But I’ve learned that if you’re feeling a certain kind of way, the reality is that others are probably feeling that way too, and when you take the time to be just a little vulnerable and open up about it, it’s a whole lot easier to find the answers you’re looking for.”

During one particular segment of the first episode, she talked about how she handled life in the public eye as a first lady and after her husband’s two terms. “People always ask me and Barack, how did we stay hopeful in, not just the eight years that we were in the White House, but beyond?” she said. “Because, let me tell you, there was a lot of negative energy flipping our way—a lot of rumors, a lot of gossip, a lot of, you know, my husband wasn’t born in this country…we weren’t patriotic, he didn’t get into Harvard.”

Michelle revealed the one secret that made them thrive throughout it all. “But through it all, what kept us sane—and we tried to instill this in our daughters—is, you cannot live through social media,” she said. “I don’t think I have ever once looked at a comment section, period.”

The podcast comes at the heels of ongoing divorce rumors surrounding the former first couple. Rumors started to swirl when Barack Obama attended President Donald Trump’s inauguration and former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral solo. Even Jennifer Aniston was roped into the rumors. The Friends actress was rumored to be dating Barack but she denied the claim on Jimmy Kimmel Live! saying, “I know Michelle more than him!”

The former President seemingly squashed the rumors when he posted a Valentine’s tribute to his wife. “Thirty-two years together and you still take my breath away,” he wrote on X alongside a photo of the couple smiling. “Happy Valentine’s Day @michelleobama”
