The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is indeed playing for the 2025 season and not retiring and the Tortured Poets Department singer will always be his number one cheerleader.

He talked about how his Super Bowl loss affected his decision process. “I mean it’s a pretty cool way to go out, but I still have this love for the game,” Travis said on his podcast New Heights. “I think I would have thought about it more if we would have won…100% the ending of that game, I feel like I owe the guys that I come into the building with a whole lot more effort and focus. I just don’t know what it was during that game, man. I wasn’t at my best.”

How did Taylor Swift help Travis Kelce’s retirement decision?

Sources told Travis Kelce that he and Taylor Swift definitely discussed” the life-changing topic “as a couple.” And Taylor strongly opposed retirement. “She didn’t want Travis to retire,” an insider told the site. “She wanted him to go out on a high note.”

RadarOnline previously reported that Travis’s retirement decision might impact his relationship with Swift. “If Travis does retire, it could drastically change his and Taylor’s lives together. He would be around far more – and who knows, she may start to get sick of him!” the outlet said.

Travis explained his love for the game on his podcast, “The biggest thing is that I f—— love playing the game of football. I still feel like I can play at a high level, and possibly at a higher level than I did last year. I don’t think it was my best outing. I think I let my guys down in a lot more moments than I helped them, especially if you look at my track record for how I did in years past. I want to give it a good run. I got a bad taste in my mouth on how I ended the year and how well I was playing and how accountable I was for the people around me.
