Gronk Just Hinted at Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce’s Baby Plans—& Whose Career Their Kid Would Follow
As Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce somehow face both engagement and breakup rumors (make up your minds, people), former NFL star Rob Gronkowski has decided to add yet another layer of speculation into the mix—suggesting the power couple should be thinking about babies instead.

On the latest episode of the “Dudes on Dudes” podcast, Gronkowski and fellow former New England Patriots star Julian Edelman got to chatting about Swift and Kelce’s future together. “They gotta have a kid,” Gronkowski joked, before taking his prediction even further. “The kid would be performing: 8 catches a game and then doing the halftime show,” suggesting a child who would somehow manage to inherit both Kelce’s athletic abilities and Swift’s musical talents.
While Gronk was clearly joking, the idea of Swift and Kelce starting a family isn’t entirely coming out of nowhere. Back in February, Page Six reported that Kelce’s family—including his parents Donna and Ed, and brother Jason Kelce—have all been extremely supportive of the relationship. “They’ve never seen Travis so happy with a girlfriend before,” a source told the outlet. “Their families blend seamlessly. They feel like Taylor has a heart of gold.”
The football star’s lighthearted comments come amid some wildly contradictory rumors about the couple. Engagement speculation has been swirling since December 2024 when RadarOnline reported that Kelce had begun shopping for rings in preparation for a “perfect” proposal. “Travis doesn’t want to fumble this one,” an insider claimed. “He’s been putting a lot of pressure on himself to make every detail of this proposal perfect, especially the ring.” When reporters later asked Kelce if he was planning to propose, he playfully dodged the question with a smile, saying, “Wouldn’t you like to know.” But hey, that wasn’t a no!
At the same time, breakup rumors have since picked up steam. Following the Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss in February, Swift has kept an unusually low profile, which some fans immediately took as a sign that trouble was brewing. According to Mail Online, Kelce has reportedly been in a “desperate” state—though sources close to the couple insist this has nothing to do with relationship problems.
“Travis is Taylor’s rock, and he will do anything and everything he needs to do to keep her safe,” one source reportedly told Mail Online. These same reports suggest Swift is dealing with multiple personal challenges, including a falling out with former friend Blake Lively and a difficult situation involving her godson’s mother, Jaime King.
Neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly addressed any of these rumors, or Gronkowski’s playful suggestion about their potential future family. Either way, fans will undoubtedly be watching closely for any signs that the couple might be taking Gronk’s suggestion seriously—or perhaps even making a completely different kind of announcement altogether.
