Pedro Pascal is finally giving us clear answers about his relationship with Jennifer Aniston. The actor talked about the rumors on the red carpet for his wildly popular show The Last of Us.
According to Page Six, Jennifer and Pedro spent three hours dining together at West Hollywood’s ultra-exclusive Tower Bar. Might we also mention that the dinner date happened right after Jennifer Aniston‘s ex Justin Theroux’s wedding to his new wife. The duo was later photographed leaving the Sunset Tower Hotel together on March 22, spurring a frenzy of: what are they? Also, just fun to note: Many eagle-eyed fans noticed that Jennifer was wearing a near-replica of the “Rachel Goes to Paris” Friends episode outfit.
Before we get to the real answer, can we just admire and appreciate their friendship? A Critic’s Choice Awards red carpet clip resurfaced of Jennifer, Pedro, and her co-star Reese Witherspoon talked about if he’ll ever appear on The Morning Show. Jennifer was clutching Pedro’s hand when he said, “I’m in. I’ll be waiting to hear from my agents.” When a reporter suggested him playing a love interest, Jennifer pitched that he would have to fall in love with “all of us.” Pedro joked that he would “sleep with everyone on the show,” and Jennifer quipped “It’s kind of real life.” So what’s actually happening in real life, Pedro? Hm?
No, the actors are not dating each other. A source told TMZ right when the rumors dropped, “They are not dating and the dinner was with a group of people, not just the two of them alone. Jennifer and Pedro are just friends with lots of mutual friends…and things are platonic, as has been the case between them for years now.”
Pedro Pascal, well being the Pedro Pascal, had no problem with the rumors circulating. He did deny them in an interview with E! News on the red carpet premiere of The Last of Us Season 2. “We’re friends and we went to dinner with mutual friends,” he told the outlet. “It happens.” He also told “Entertainment Tonight” that it was a fun martini dinner.”
When Extra asked him about his list of wants in a relationship, Pedro listed them off, “Kindness. Respect. Decency. Bad taste in television.” That’s when the Extra correspondent butted in with “Maybe somebody who has good taste in television that watched Friends or maybe was on it?” The actor was confused at first but then became flustered when he realized what she meant. “I see, yeah, there you go, there it is.” She then followed up if we’ll ever see him on The Morning Show and replied coyly: “I dunno, maybe” while grinning.
Well the same could be said for Jennifer Aniston, a source told People that their supposed romantic dinner was in fact “a business dinner to get to know each other better.” The source continued, “Jen likes [Pedro’s] energy and would love to work with him.” And just like that, we’ll be happily streaming The Morning Show soon!
