Jennifer Lawrence has welcomed her second baby with husband Cooke Maroney, and fans are already trying to guess the baby’s name. Considering how the couple picked their first child’s name, it might be really hard to guess the second one, though.

The couple was spotted out together in New York City on Monday, March 31st, following the birth of their baby, PEOPLE confirmed. The two are also parents to a 3-year-old, Cy. Lawrence originally confirmed she was expecting her second baby in October of last year in a Vogue article.

One day after that, a source confirmed the news to Peopleexclusively sharing that Lawrence was “thrilled to be pregnant again,” adding that “She loves being a mom,” and “It feels like the perfect timing to her. Her son will be 3 when the new baby arrives.”

Fast forward to now, and her son Cy is indeed three, as the new baby has finally arrived. But what is the gender of her new baby? What is her baby’s name? Here’s what we know.

What is Jennifer Lawrence’s baby’s name, and what does it mean?

At the time of writing, Jennifer Lawrence and her husband Cooke Maroney have yet to officially confirm the gender of their baby or what they’ve named the baby. Lawrence has spoken before about how her life changed after becoming a mother, telling Vogue, “The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over,” she explained. “Like, ’Now is day one of my life.’ I just stared. I was just so in love.”

She also shared that she suffered multiple miscarriages before she was able to carry Cy, her first son, to term.

Lawrence also praised her husband’s parenting skills during an interview with Interview Magazine: “Fortunately, my husband is the greatest father in the entire world,” Lawrence said in June 2023. “So, when I’m working, I don’t have any more guilt than the usual every day, all-day parent guilt.”

In the same interview, Lawrence also spoke about making her kids a priority. “The best thing I can do is make sure [my children] know they’re loved and that they’re our number one priority,” she said. “There’s no squeezing when you have a baby. There’s just home, and it’s the best.”

The couple’s first child, Cy, was born in February 2022 and was named after American painter Cy Twombly, who is one of Maroney’s favorite artists. Maroney is an art gallery director who has served as the director of the Gladstone Gallery since 2022 and previously worked at the Gagosian Gallery. So, he comes by his interest and love for art honestly.

Does this mean the name of their second child will be art-related? Or will it be Lawrence’s turn to pick a name she particularly likes? Both are real possibilities, and we’re going to have to wait until the notoriously private family decides to share the gender and the name of the baby with the world. But for now, if you have a favorite artist, it’s worth throwing it into the speculation. Cy made it in, after all.
