Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are taking a well-deserved break from the spotlight. The IT couple has kept their 2025 plans lowkey, and they plan to keep them that way.
Several sources dished to Us Weekly about why the Lover singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end wanted to live a “normal life” after the extravaganza that was the Eras Tour and the Super Bowl. One source said they “needed time for themselves,” adding, “Taylor and Travis are doing great, and they’re still very much together and in love. They’re just taking a break from the public eye.”
Recently, the couple has been spotted on dates and trips in Montana and Denver without any security or paparazzi. “Travis wants to take [a breather] from the public eye,” another source added “He was working too much last year, and he didn’t play as well as he wanted.” Kelce’s retirement decision helped with planning the trips because he needs to rest up before his probable final season in the NFL, with the source adding, “He wants to have a good season and not have the focus be on his relationship with Taylor.”
Another source explained that Taylor Swift’s supposed “beef” with her close friend Blake Lively also contributed to them laying low. Lively’s currently embroiled in a legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni and mentioned Swift in a text that wasn’t received well by The Tortured Poets Department artist. “All the stuff going on with Blake is another reason Taylor and Travis want to keep to themselves,” says a source. “The last thing Taylor wants is to be dragged into a controversy when she’s trying to destress.”
For now, Kelce and Taylor are carefully planning their future together. A source says the couple is “on the same page about taking the next step.” However, amid the press focusing on the mystery around if they’re getting engaged, planning for a baby, or moving in together, they’re pretty much keeping to themselves without hesitation. “Without the outside noise, they can focus on each other.”
