Morgan Wallen is cashin’ in. After his viral SNL moment, the country singer is selling merch about a popular accidental meme he created.

Morgan Wallen was Saturday Night Live’s musical guest when Oscar-winner Mikey Madison hosted the iconic sketch comedy show on March 30, 2025. As a weekly tradition, the cast, host, musical guest, and guests send off their goodbyes at the credits and everyone greets and hugs each other. However, after Wallen hugged Madison, he immediately walked off the stage—causing confusion for longtime fans of the show.

Hours after the show, Wallen posted an Instagram story of his private jet with the caption, “Get me to God’s country.” Immediately after he posted that, the phrase went viral on social media and spurred thousands of memes. Netizens posted photos of their desire destination with the caption. Examples include a Costco foodcourt, a lush forest Chili’s, and even the Criterion Closet.

After the success of the meme, Wallen decided to take the opportunity to make merch based on his famous phrase. The “Last Night” singer debuted a t-shirt and trucker hats with “Get Me to God’s Country” on his merch store.

Meanwhile, several cast and crew members of SNL revealed Morgan Wallen’s troubling behavior on set before the show aired. A crew member alleged to DeuxMoi that he threw “tantrums” behind the scenes and that his behavior was “incredibly immature,” suggesting that his primary focus was to “perform, get paid, and get out of there.”

Longtime cast member Kenan Thompson to Entertainment Weekly revealed that Wallen’s sudden exit “felt abrupt” and left him unsure if Wallen “was really feeling a certain kind of way” about the show.

“I thought maybe he had to go to the potty or something,” Thompson added. “It’s definitely a spike in the norm. We’re so used to everybody just turning around and high-fiving us, everybody’s saying, ‘Good job, good job, good job.’ So when there’s a departure from that, it’s like, hmm, I wonder what that’s about?”

The Kenan & Kel alum was also confused about the Instagram story. “The ‘God’s country’ of it all is strange because it’s like, what are you trying to say?,” he explained. “You trying to say that we are not in God’s country? We’re not all in God’s country? We’re not all under God’s umbrella? That’s not necessarily my favorite.”
