Despite viral reports, Taylor Swift is not moving to Canada. Yes, the pop star might be house hunting across the country from her usual New York City loft, but she’s not leaving the country any time soon.
A false Facebook post spurred the rumors. The post read, “BREAKING NEWS: Taylor Swift announces the end of her legendary show, saying, ‘I’m moving to Canada and never coming back to the States. I don’t want to breathe the same air as that jerk.’ Swift’s picture was accompanied with a picture of Elon Musk, who is seemingly referred to as the “jerk.”
This isn’t the first time that The Tortured Poets Department has been slammed with rumors that she’s moving out of the US. A Donald Trump News account on X posted a rumor that Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce would move away if Trump won the election. Reuters reported that there was no evidence that this was the case.
However, there are other rumors that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the Lover singer might move to Montana after sources close to the couple describe it as “their happy place.” According to insiders quoted by Radar Online, Swift and Kelce “love Montana” because there are “no paparazzi, no pressure. Just mountains, good food, and close friends.”
The couple recently visited the state and were spotted dining at the Auric Room, a hidden speakeasy at Lone Mountain Ranch. Hollywood insider Rob Shuter revealed that locals described the mood as “intimate, chill, and very off-the-grid.” An eyewitness added: “They were laughing all night. It was super relaxed. No bodyguards swarming, no glam squad—just friends having a great night out.”
This represents a major step for the couple, who are currently splitting their time between Kelce’s $6 million Kansas City mansion and Swift’s $18 million NYC townhouse. “They could see themselves building a life there someday,” a source told RadarOnline. “It’s the one place they truly feel free.”
