Weeks have passed since The White Lotus season finale, but some cast members are still shaking up the drama rumors. Just days before their Met Gala debut, Walton Goggins seemed to squash the rumors that he had a feud with co-star Aimee Lou Wood.
Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood attended the Met Gala separately after they were confirmed to be on the official Met Gala guest list. Goggins walked up the Met stairs in a heavy black overcoat and skirt that’s stitched with white outlines, while Wood appeared in a suit with similar colors. She attended the event with fellow The White Lotus co-star Patrick Schwarzenegger.

A couple of days before the Met Gala, The Times published an interview with Goggins where the journalist tried to ask him about his relationship with Aimee Lou Wood. “I’m not gonna have that conversation,” Goggins said. Goggins’ American publicist interjected, “We’re not going there, thank you,” while his British publicist prompted, “Next question.”

On the morning of the Met Gala, it was reported that Wood and Goggins were following each other again after eagle-eyed fans noticed that the two weren’t following each other following the finale. Despite the unfollowing, people believed that the on-screen had intense chemistry on set. Walton Goggins posted an Instagram tribute to his time on The White Lotus for the finale. He didn’t tag Aimee Lou Wood. He wrote, “Rick + Chelsea. With the heaviest of hearts… To me, ours was a love story. It was only ever a love story, hindered by unresolved, childhood trauma. We all have them… but can we move past them. In the depths of our despair there is always beauty around us. If we can sit with our pain, just sit with it… not react… not be defined by it…It’s there… the love the world is constantly giving in any given moment is there. Always waiting for us to see it… Trust me I know.” Elsewhere, he wrote, “Thank you Aimee Lou for being my partner… a journey I will never forget.”
He also posted photos on his Instagram story set to “Silver Springs” by Fleetwood Mac, which is a band notorious for their inner-band affairs.
Feud rumors boiled over when SNL aired a sketch about The White Lotus, which Aimee Lou Wood called “mean” and “unfunny.” In the sketch, comedian Sarah Sherman parodies Aimee Lou Wood’s character of Chelsea by wearing fake teeth. Wood wrote on her Instagram Stories about it, saying that the show could have taken a “cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap” approach considering “a big gap, not bad teeth.”
Goggins clearly found it funny anyway, and funny enough to repost on his own Instagram stories even after Wood had already complained about the sketch, calling it “smashing.”
