Another one! Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s family is growing after the singer announced her pregnancy at the 2025 Met Gala, where her boyfriend was a co-chair at.
Rihanna‘s new baby joins her two sons—RZA, who was born in 2022, and Riot, who was born in 2023—for a total of three kids. News of her and Rocky’s third child comes a year after Rihanna told Interview magazine that she wanted to have at least one more baby to try for a girl after RZA and Riot’s births. “As many as God wants me to have,” she said when asked how many kids she planned to have. “I don’t know what God wants, but I would go for more than two. I would try for my girl. But of course, if it’s another boy, it’s another boy.”
As we wait for her third child to be born, read on for what we know about Rihanna’s two kids below and the songs she sings to them. (Spoiler alert: They aren’t her own.)

Born: May 13, 2022
Rihanna and Rocky announced they were pregnant with their first child in January 2022 after they were photographed walking through New York City with the singer’s baby bump on full display. The baby, a son named RZA Athelston Mayers, was born less than five months later on May 13, 2022. “Rihanna is doing well,” a source told People at the time. “They are very excited to be parents. Rihanna is already a wonderful mom.”
RZA was named after th leader of the Wu-Tang Clan, producer and rapper RZA, whose name is pronounced “Rizza.” The rapper’s real name is Robert Fitzgerald Diggs.
When he was nine months old, RZA made his magazine debut by posing with Rihanna for the cover of British Vogue. Rihanna told the magazine at the time that her first child only made her and Rocky closer. “We’re best friends with a baby,” Rihanna said. “We have to be on the same page, but we’ve always kind of had that in our relationship. Everything changes when you have a baby but I wouldn’t say it’s done anything but made us closer.”
Rihanna also joked that she hopes RZA inherits her love of fashion and that she’ll “have a problem” if he doesn’t. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2022, Rihanna teased that she wants to start a children’s clothing line after becoming a mom. “You know, I always thought doing kid stuff would be cliché and the obvious thing to do when you have a baby. It’s, like, the obvious next step,” she said. “But when I went shopping, that’s when I realized like, okay, maybe I need to start making the stuff that I want my kids to wear because it’s hard! I got my own ideas.”
Rihanna revealed RZA’s first word was “hey” in an interview with Interview magazine in 2024. “I used to try to get his attention all the time, and I would say, ‘Hey, hey, hey,'” she said. “And one day he said it back to me in the same melody and I kept singing it and he kept following it over and over again.”
She also confessed the songs she sings to her kids, and—spoiler alert—they aren’t any of her own. “There’s ‘Penguins Salute.’ There’s ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.’ Oh my gosh. RZA gets really emotional about that,” she said. “Now he’s really into ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes.’ ‘The Wheels on the Bus’ is a favorite from the beginning till now. That’s just a classic. It’s never going out of style. And oh, the new ‘Incy-Wincy Spider,’ because he gets like, ‘Ahh,’ like he thinks I’m going to tickle him when I sing that one. And he has a book about that, so he can put two and two together.”
Born: August 1, 2023
Rihanna and Rocky’s second child, Riot Rose Mayers, was born on August 1, 2023, at 7:41 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California, according to his birth certificate obtained by People. Rihanna announced her pregnancy with Riot at the Super Bowl LVII where she debuted her growing baby bump while performing the halftimeshow.
After Riot’s birth, a source told People that Rihanna felt “complete.” “Rihanna feels her family is now complete” and “it’s something she’s always wanted,” the insider said. Like his mother, father, and brother, Riot also has an “R” name. (Rocky’s real name is Rakim Mayers.” While Rihanna and Rocky haven’t revealed the meaning of Riot’s name, Rocky did relesae a single titled, “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n)” less than two weeks after his son’s birth.
Rihanna told Interview in 2024 that Riot had grown into RZA’s clothes sooner than expected. “Riot is actually in all of RZA’s 1-year-old clothes already. He’s only 6 months,” she said.
She also told the magazine about the surgeries she was open to for her postpartum body. “I don’t want implants. I just want a lift,” she said. “I heard that you might have some scars. I’m OK with all that. But I don’t want to ever have a tummy tuck because I don’t want a new navel, and I don’t want that scar, right?”
She continued, “Third-trimester cellulite is no joke. You just see ripples coming from places you never knew, and it’s all in your thighs, because your thighs are carrying the weight of your baby and uterus. I’m also scared of the knife. So if I had to pick one thing, I’m going to pick my boobs. Because I can, like, squat and get an ass, hopefully.”
