The Real Reason Johnny Depp & Amber Heard Never Had Kids Resurfaces as She Welcomes Twins With a Mystery Father

Johnny Depp‘s comments about wanting kids with Amber Heard are resurfacing after his ex-wife welcomed twins with a mystery father.
During Depp’s lawsuit against The Sun and News Group Newspapers in 2018, Heard‘s acting coach, Kristina Sexton, testified in her witness statement that Heard claimed Depp wanted to start a family with her, but she decided not to because she allegedly didn’t want to have a baby with someone struggling with addiction. “Amber and I talked about his addictions: she really wanted to stay and help him get better,” Sexton said in court. “She told me that he really wanted them to have children, but she was concerned about having a child with someone who was an addict.”
Sexton continued, “I remember her telling me that he wanted her ‘barefoot and pregnant – and at home’ and her saying, ‘I’m not going off the pill. I don’t want to have kids with an addict.’ We had this conversation a number of times over the course of their relationship.”
Heard welcomed her first child, a daughter named Oonagh Paige, with a mystery father on April 8, 2021. She welcomed her second and third children, twins Agnes and Ocean, on May 11, 2025. “Mother’s Day 2025 will be one I’ll never forget. This year I am elated beyond words to celebrate the completion of the family I’ve strived to build for years,” she announced the news on Instagram ast the time with a photo of of her twin daughter and son’s feet. “Today I officially share the news that I welcomed twins into the Heard gang. My daughter Agnes and my son Ocean are keeping my hands (and my heart) full. When I had my first baby girl Oonagh four years ago, my world changed forever. I thought I couldn’t possibly burst with more joy. Well, now I am bursting times three!!!”
She continued, “Becoming a mother by myself and on my own terms despite my own fertility challenges has been the most humbling experience of my life. I am eternally grateful that I was able to choose this responsibly and thoughtfully. To all the moms, wherever you are today and however you got here, my dream family and I are celebrating with you. Love always, A x.”
Depp, for his part, shares two children with ex-wife Vanessa Paradis: daughter Lily-Rose, who was born in 199, and son Jack, who was born in 2002. While Heard hasn’t revealed the identity of her children’s dad, fans speculate that her ex Elon Musk, whom she dated from 2016 to 2018, is the father. The speculation came after a close friend of Heard’s sister, Whitney, claimed in court in 2022 that Heard and Musk planned to have kids together.
The friend, Jennifer Howell, alleged that Heard “in a legal battle with [Musk] over embryos they had created together… He wanted to destroy them, and Amber tried to keep them to have a baby.” As of writing, Heard nor Musk have responded to the speculation.
