Travis Kelce’s Ex Shades Him 3 Years After Their Breakup: ‘I Can Speak My Truth’

Travis Kelce‘s ex doesn’t want to talk about him in the spotlight. Kayla Nicole recently opened up about their shared dogs and how much responsibility she has for them after getting full custody.
In her podcast, The Pre-Game With Kayla Nicole, she talked with guest Nazanin Mandi about their pets and revealed that she takes full care of the dogs. “I have dogs with the previous partner, and I got both the dogs,” she shared. “I had a dog bill the other day that was $2,000.”
Meanwhile, Mandi and her ex-husband Miguel share custody for their cats. “That speaks to the relationship that you guys still have,” Nicole applauded her guest. “That means you guys are in a good, healthy, safe space for you to be able to make adult decisions.” Mandi responded, “We are in a cordial space to make adult decisions. I think that is the best way to put it.”
Mandi and Nicole talked about how they would never talk ill of their exes, despite the bad things that have happened in their relationships. “A lot of people will air out their dirty laundry for whatever,” Nicole said. They might be hurt. They might do it for financial gain or publicity, but I agree with you too. There’s no desire in my heart to ever portray anyone that I’ve ever had love with in a negative light.”
Nicole continued, “It’s the delicate balance and dance of I can speak my truth. I can talk about my life experiences, but I will never sit here intentionally and try to badmouth anyone that I’ve ever loved.”
The ex-couple first met when Nicole was the one to make the first move by sliding into Kelce’s DMs “after a little liquid courage” in 2017. It ignited an on-again, off-again relationship over five years until officially calling it quits in 2022.
From there, Travis Kelce is in a highly publicized relationship with megastar Taylor Swift and have been keeping it lowkey recently. As for what the sports reporter thinks of their relationship, she said on the second episode of Fox’s Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test, “I really like, like, her. I think she’s very talented.”
However, she expressed resentment towards the online backlash received by people who criticized their relationship. “It’s pretty constant and exhausting,” Kayla said. “It doesn’t matter, I could post about the sky being blue and people will have a response about an ex and their new situation. It’s inadvertently affected me to the point where it makes me question my overall value as a person.”
“I think there’s just the comparison and it’s just like on loop,” she continued through tears. “I think I’m still trying to figure out how to deal with it.”
