LONDON, ENGLAND - JUNE 17: King Charles III and Queen Camilla wave alongside Prince William, Prince of Wales, Prince Louis of Wales, Catherine, Princess of Wales and Prince George of Wales on the Buckingham Palace balcony during Trooping the Colour on June 17, 2023 in London, England. A new Royal family member just got their official portrait. Queen Camilla‘s new dog Moley just made his grand debut.

On May 18, Buckingham Palace revealed that Queen Camilla will visit the Chelsea Garden, which is devoted to the well-being of dogs. “Meet mischievous Moley, The Queen’s new much-loved canine companion who was recently adopted from @Battersea where Her Majesty is Patron,” the Palace posted on Instagram.

The Queen revealed that she adopted the pup back in February 2025. She described Moley as “bit of everything,” and the palace revealed Moley was born on Dec. 26. Her mother is half Jack Russell Terrier, while the father’s breed is unknown. Moley’s adoption comes after the Royal couple’s longtime dog Beth had passed away in November 2024. The Royal family broke the news via social media: “A sad farewell to Beth, The Queen’s much-loved companion from @Battersea Dogs and Cats Home who brought such joy, whether on walkies, helping on official duties or curled up by the fire.” They also have another dog, a Jack Russell Terrier named Bluebell.

The newest Royal family addition comes there were rumors of Prince William and Kate Middleton having a fourth child…which in turn might be Prince William himself. “I don’t know where William would be without Kate — she hasn’t had everything done for her throughout her life, so she calms him down when he gets a bit fractious,” a former staff member told Tom Quinn in his book Yes Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants. “She said he sometimes has to be treated as her fourth child.”

Another source said, “Kate had to explain many of the things that parents outside the royal family do with their children as a matter of course — she had to show him how to give the children a piggyback, for example. William said very quietly, ‘My father never gave me a piggyback.’” Poor Wills.

The adoption also comes in the midst of King Charles‘ cancer update. ”Charles is indeed a sick man, and he does have cancer,” an insider told NewsNationNow. “He also refused chemotherapy and decided on a less invasive treatment.”

In the event that all goes south, the Royal family is amping up succession plans. “The people I’ve spoken to have said that the succession planning, as they call it, began even before Charles’ diagnosis,” Tom Quinn told Harper’s Bazaar recently. “I mean, he’s the oldest Prince of Wales to become king in history, so succession planning had begun before Charles came to the throne simply because of the age issue.”
