Meghan Markle is getting real about her life. The Duchess of Sussex revealed how things weren’t exactly how she planned for them to go, but she’s grateful to have a life with Prince Harry and her kids by her side.

Meghan Markle took to her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, to explain how life didn’t always go as planned. She recounted that she “always wanted to be a mom” and added that she imagined herself giving speeches “with a baby on [her] hip.” She continued, “I had a whole vision. You fast forward [and] … it was not the way I envisioned it.”

She laughed, saying that there were “a lot of external things happening by the time [she] had both pregnancies and both babies.” Meghan gave birth to her first child Archie, 5, while they were still working members of the Royal Family. They later quit in 2020 and moved to Montecito, Calif. where Meghan gave birth to their daughter Lilibet in 2021.

On the day of their anniversary, Meghan shared a moodboard containing her favorite moments in her relationship with Harry. One of those included a picture of a silhouette of the Duchess on her side and sporting her baby bump. Directly below it is an ultrasound of one of their kids, presumably Archie.

“For me, it’s so important my kids see me as a working mom,” the As Ever entrepreneur noted.

Harry lost his security appeal and talked to the BBC in a bombshell interview, asking to reconcile with his father and support funding for their security. “Look at the risk, look at the threat, look at the impact that if anything was to happen to me, my wife, or my father’s grandchildren. If anything was to happen to them, look where the responsibility lies,” Harry said earlier this month.

He told the BBC after the verdict that the security appeal poses major threats to his family. “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point,” he confessed

“I don’t want history to repeat itself,” the Duke of Sussex said, referring to his mother, Princess Diana’s death when she was fleeing the paparazzi and only had private security. “I think there’s a lot of other people out there, the majority, that also don’t want history to repeat itself. Through the disclosure process, I’ve discovered that some people want history to repeat itself, which is pretty dark.”

However, Harry’s actions are not sitting well with the working members of the Royal Family.  According to sources to The Times, “in Charles’s mind” Harry has “most egregiously crossed the line.” Another source told Page Six that they “genuinely think nobody trusts him and that’s the bottom line. The royal family has major trust issues with him and that’s what’s at the heart of everything.” They continued, “They don’t trust him and Meghan and that’s why they can’t have a relationship … maybe there’s room to forgive, but they won’t forget.”
