Congratulations are in order for recent law grad Kim Kardashian! The Kardashians star just celebrated completing her law program and she’s getting ready to become a lawyer.
“I finally graduated law school after six years!!!” she wrote on her Instagram stories. Her family partook in the celebrations with Khloe gushing in her Instagram stories, “I mean, I cannot believe this is years and years in the making. I’m so proud of her. This was just such a cool accomplishment.”

However, fans weren’t convinced that Kim graduated — let alone attended — law school. One person wrote, “I’m sorry where tf is the proof … like we saw her in a skirt and a blazer one day and she was supposedly trying to get a man out of jail, nothing since then and now she’s a lawyer …. Please stop playing with us Kim.”
So, what’s the truth about Kim’s education?
While Kim Kardashian didn’t go to a law school, she was enrolled in a Law Office Study Program which usually takes four years to complete. Because of COVID-19 protocols, the program took Kim six years to finish.
California is one of the three states that allows prospective lawyers to take an apprenticeship at a law office as an alternative path from going to law school. The student must be supervised by a practicing attorney. The program must consist of working at least 18 hours a week between 24 and 26 weeks for six months.
Three months before her graduation, Kim passed the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE), a test required in California for candidates without an accredited law school education before they take the Bar exam.
In 2021, the Skims founder revealed that she passed the “baby” bar exam which assess the readiness of first-year law students to continue their legal education.
“The experience taught me so much and I’ve never worked so hard on something in my life,” she said of preparing for the test to Vogue Hong Kong. “I had to be really diligent about studying and dedicated every spare minute I had to it. I’m very passionate about Criminal Justice Reform and I want to advocate for those who I feel were wrongfully convicted.”
Kim was also inspired by her father Robert Kardashian, who represented O.J. Simpson during his Nicole Brown Simpson murder trial. “Spending time with my father at his office definitely influenced me. Doing this work has been in my soul for years and I’m so proud that I’m now doing this work,” she said.
During her program, the reality star has also advocated for Criminal Justice reform. She notably helped Alice Marie Johnson, a woman who was sentenced to life in prison for a nonviolent drug offense. President Donald Trump pardoned her after she served 21 years.
