In the early 2000s, Britney and Diddy ran in the same circles. Several celebrities have testified in Diddy’s trial including his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and Kid Cudi. Diddy’s trial in Lower Manhattan is currently underway after he was arrested in September 2024. He was charged with racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty. He also faces dozens of civil lawsuits from individuals who accuse him of using his power to drug, assault, rape, intimidate and silence people.

Britney Spears did not testify at Diddy’s trial, and it is highly unlikely that she will take the stand.
Britney Spears’ name was mentioned when Cassie Ventura testified when she started her relationship with Combs. The two started getting close at her 21st birthday in Las Vegas on September 2007. “Sean was there, and he brought Dallas Austin, Britney Spears. I think those were the two people that stand out to me,” she said on the stand.
Britney and Diddy were pictured together at a pre-party for the 2007 VMAs at Jet Night Club in Las Vegas. The next day, she performed “Gimme More.”
However, the experience didn’t really go well for the pop star. She recounted her performance in her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, Spears wrote that “nothing was going right.” “There was a problem with my costume and with my hair extensions,” she wrote. “I hadn’t slept the night before. I was dizzy.”
She was also afraid of encountering her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake backstage. “It had been a while since I’d seen him,” she wrote. “I couldn’t believe I was going to have to go out onstage feeling the way I felt.”
