It seems like there’s trouble in paradise for the Beckhams. Well, not for Victoria and David Beckham, who have been one of the steadiest couples in entertainment for years at this point. But at least in their family unit, according to recent reports. And in a way, it’s to be expected. Their kids are growing up, and that means new people are entering the family, and with that comes some adjustments. And those are not always easy.
The latest news comes from Nicola Peltz Beckham, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham’s wife. The oldest son of the couple married Nicola in 2022 in Palm Beach, Florida. And Nicola Peltz’s latest Instagram post is being taken as a dig at her mother-in-law, Victoria.

Without the backstory, it’s pretty innocuous. On May 30, Nicola Peltz Beckham shared an Instagram Stories post with text on the screen that read, “I would choose my mom to be my mom in every lifetime. again, and again, and again,” alongside a small red heart. The message for her mother, Claudia Peltz, was, however, taken as a dig by many people, considering recent reports.
The news comes after People reported a day earlier that Victoria Beckham allegedly hijacked a dance at the wedding between Nicola and Brooklyn, which the two had been planning to dance to together, leaving Nicola in tears.
“Marc Anthony, who is a friend of the Beckhams, offered to perform as a gift at the wedding,” the source told the outlet. “Before the song began, Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, ‘The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up … Victoria Beckham!'”
Allegedly, as Victoria and Brooklyn began dancing, everyone saw “Nicola run from the room crying.” According to the source, Nicola “felt that Victoria ruined her wedding, and couldn’t understand why.”
However, other reports indicate the evening went differently. “Nicola and Brooklyn had their formal first dance early in the evening and she also had the traditional first dance with her father.” The Daily Mail reported the couple had their first dance to “Only Fools Rush In,” which Elvis Presley popularized. Their second dance was reportedly to Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me.”
That same source claimed that Marc Anthony only performed much later. “Later on, when everyone was casual, Marc Anthony performed and got people dancing. Brooklyn and Victoria danced, David and Harper danced, and everyone had a great time.”
Even if that’s true, there are reports that things between Brooklyn, Nicola, and Brooklyn’s parents aren’t exactly great. “They’ve tried to make peace, but every time they finally have a happy moment, it all falls apart again,” the insider said, adding, “Brooklyn feels torn. It’s his family and blood, but he’s always had a complicated relationship with his dad. A lot of their relationship has felt like ‘business.’”
Back during the days before the wedding, there were even rumors about Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltz having issues due to Nicola’s wedding dress, which Victoria Beckham was originally going to design, but then didn’t.
And Brooklyn Beckham’s youngest brother, Cruz, even got in on the back and forth. Or did he? On May 29, Cruz Beckham posted his own cryptic Instagram story. In the image, which featured a close-up of the top of his hair, it read “It takes 43 muscles in your face to frown, and 17 to smile,” adding, “be kind and tell the truth,” alongside a series of pointing emojis. This was published the same day as the original report about the wedding dance.
Whatever’s going on, it seems like the happy family façade is cracking a little bit. But it in no way seems broken, which is a good sign that perhaps thing can be fixed.
