She’s 2025’s It Girl of the summer. Though Addison Rae just released her highly anticipated album Addison, many people on social media have been looking back at the singer’s political affiliations.

Addison Rae rose to stardom on TikTok in 2019 and was a founding member of the Hype House. She started to pivot into the world of music in 2021 with her single “Obsessed.” People started to question if Addison Rae was a Trump supporter that same year when she made an appearance at a WWE event with the President.

In a video, she tapped Trump’s shoulder and introduced herself. “I’m Addison,” the singer said while offering a handshake. “So nice to meet you.”

Is Addison Rae a Trump Supporter?

Addison Rae has constantly denied that she’s a Trump supporter. “I mean, I don’t support Trump,” she told the Los Angeles Times in 2021. “And if someone does, that’s their opinion and I respect everyone’s opinion, for each their own. But it’s very rare on occasion that you ever get to meet a former president, and I think most people could agree with me on that. It’s very uncommon. And I consider myself a friendly person, and so introducing myself does not mean I stand behind anything that any respective person condones.”

She endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, according to Rolling Stone.

When the TikTok ban was lifted in January 2025, she was asked by Vogue France if she would like to thank Trump for the lift. “No, because he was the one who originally created the problem,” she said. “He was the cause of the blockage. I remember, the first time I heard about a possible ban on the app was around 2020. I was worried. Of course, I’m glad the network survived.”

She voiced her opinion about Trump in the same interview, saying that’s she’s scared of his rise to power. “Things are changing at a crazy speed; it’s unbelievable how quickly someone can abuse newly acquired power, becoming disconnected from others and from their country’s values. And it feels like certain freedoms are being slowly taken away from them, which is very scary.”

Rae also dated vocal Trump supporter Bryce Hall on and off from 2019 to 2022. She alleged that he cheated on her during their relationship. “That was a shit show,” she told Rolling Stone. “He was very vocal about everything, and it was a mess.” However, she doesn’t want to completely trash him. “I believe there’s good in everyone, so I like to think there’s a good part of him,” she reflected. “We were really young.”
