Trouble in paradise? Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom‘s relationship is reportedly rockier everyday, and the “E.T.” singer wasn’t seen with that ring on her finger, causing speculation that they may be done for good.
In her latest Instagram post, Katy Perry noticeably didn’t sport her engagement ring during her stay in Australia. She was carrying koalas and feeding giraffes, and it’s a reasonable act not to wear a valuable piece of jewelry during that. While the “California Girls” musician hasn’t addressed the split rumors, TMZ has also reported that Orlando Bloom will be enjoying his time as a single man at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding. “He’s the life of the party and he’s gonna hit the dance floor hard!” one source told the gossip site.
“She does have prior commitments, but it goes deeper than that,” a source to the Daily Mail said, noting that Perry will be on tour in Australia, on dates that were set long before the wedding date was decided on, and she can’t exactly cancel.
“Katy feels like they’re really her friends more than his, and yet he’s the one going to the wedding,” the source added. “And he’s insistent that he goes, which annoys her because he’s not particularly close to either of them. She feels like it’s a ‘f—k you’ to her from him.”

But that’s not all, according to the outlet. Reports indicated that Bloom had less than kind words to say about Perry’s flight to space. “He told her the whole thing looked ridiculous,” a source in Perry’s camp previously told the Daily Mail. “He said it was cringeworthy. Embarrassing. This was in the middle of a fight, and it hurt her feelings.”
Despite the split claims, other sources close to the couple maintain that they are working through their problems. A source told The Sun, “No one has decided it’s definitely the end of the road for Katy and Orlando. They both love each other, but they have been living different lives for at least a year and in different mindsets.”
“But Katy especially doesn’t want to just give up,” the source continued. “Katy and Orlando have been disconnected for a while now, and with their work commitments have been living separate lives.”
With different itineraries on the couple’s agenda, they seem set to be there for each other once her Australia leg of the tour is over. “The plan is for them to reunite over the July 4 break. She has mentioned jetting back from Australia to spend time with Orlando, Daisy, her sister Angela and her kids.” Bloom was seen in Australia with their daughter, Daisy, 4, before Perry’s shows.
However, when they come back, it might not all be smooth. Perry recently rented out her shared Montecito home to actor Chris Pratt, after the actor is reported to be rebuilding his house in Brentwood. “The arrangement suits Chris but it’s a bit of a surprise given how Katy fought tooth and nail to get her hands on the house,’ a source told the Daily Mail. “She previously suggested it was the ideal place for her and Orlando to raise a family. After all that time, energy and money, it seems unthinkable that they are not going to live in it.”
Sources are assured that the couple will indeed work things out. “They have barely been together for a decent amount of time, without distractions, for many, many months,” The Sun source said. “It has been ‘go, go, go’ and they thrived when they enjoyed a more settled life, being together in the same place for a length of time. But that has just not happened.”
“But there is still a huge amount of love between them, and there is still hope that they can ride out this rough patch,” the source declared. “Anyone in long term relationships goes through challenges, and many times when things appear to be done, couples reconnect and make things work.”
