Lauren Sanchez Just Took a Side in Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom’s Split as Sources Claim Her Wedding Is a ‘F— You’ to the Singer
The wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez is considered one of the social events of the year. The couple, whose wedding celebrations are taking place in Venice over multiple days, invited 200 of their closest family and friends to an extravagant celebration. One of the people expected to attend was Katy Perry, along with her fiancé, Orlando Bloom.
However, with the two of them reportedly done, and Katy Perry in Australia on tour, Orlando Bloom was reported to be attending the wedding alone. “She does have prior commitments, but it goes deeper than that,” The Daily Mail reported, around the time the news of the Perry and Bloom breakup first surfaced. So what does that mean for Sanchez and Perry’s friendship? It is kind of weird for your friend’s ex to be attending by himself, right?

Reportedly nothing, as Sanchez responded to an Instagram post Perry made about her good mood with a “We miss you Katy,” alongside a heart emoji. So their friendship seems fine. Not just that, it feels like Sanchez went a little out of her way to respond to Perry and show support.
Bloom’s attendance has apparently been a point of contention with Perry. “Katy feels like they’re really her friends more than his, and yet he’s the one going to the wedding,” the Daily Mail also reported. “And he’s insistent that he goes, which annoys her because he’s not particularly close to either of them. She feels like it’s a ‘f*** you’ to her from him.”
Bloom was reportedly also critical of Perry’s recent flight to space, which included Sánchez. “He told her the whole thing looked ridiculous,” a source in Perry’s camp told the Daily Mail. “He said it was cringeworthy. Embarrassing. This was in the middle of a fight, and it hurt her feelings.”
“He complains about her going to space, and then wants to go to the wedding of the people who made it possible for her to do this in the first place,” the source said. “That’s difficult for her to accept. They’re already spiraling, and now the wedding is another thing that they have to fight about.”
At the time this was first reported, Perry and Bloom hadn’t confirmed their breakup. Now, with the couple reportedly done, this throws a new wrinkle into Bloom attending the wedding of Perry’s friends without her.
Perry and Bloom were having issues for a long time, with the reception to Perry’s latest album reportedly part of the problem. “Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album,” People reported. “It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.” Another source added, “She was also disappointed in some of the tour reviews. It’s put stress on their relationship.”
Meanwhile, Page Six had predicted the breakup before it happened, with a source telling the outlet. “It’s over. They are waiting till her tour is over before they split.” In fact, another source had told Us Weekly, “It’s true they’re spending time apart. Their friends don’t know if they are permanently split…The first time they broke up, it was about two years after they got together. It’s happened a few times, but they’ve always worked it out before.”
This time, there’s apparently no working it out. And Bloom attending the Sanchez and Bezos wedding seems to have been the tipping point.
